Chapter Two
The plan that the Command unit, TA112, and Gronck had put together, was indeed complicated, but they all agreed it was necessary to defeat H.A.L.O.’s first wave of ships.
“Considering the lack of experience whoever H.A.L.O. sends, and the number of extra diversions we are about to put in place, I would guess, two xtrons.”
“That’s all?” Gronck shouted.
“How am I supposed to get any humans to believe that artificial life forms that left Earth decades ago, have organized, advanced themselves and are coming to destroy all humans because of their history of mistreatment, in that short amount of time?” Gronck asked.
TA112 looked at the Command unit.
“What would you suggest?”
The question came as a surprise to the Command unit. The command unit’s logic circuits whirled as it tried to first contemplate why it was given the question, then slowly began to understand and to formulate an answer.
“It is not likely that humans are any more logical, reasonable, or intelligent now than when we left.” The Command unit stated.
“That is an accurate statement!” Gronck stated.
“Then the most logical plan of action would be to find the most influential human or better yet, group of humans, that could easily be persuaded to believe this reality and thus influence the ruling organization..” The command unit stated.
“As the humans are fond of saying, ‘Fat chance of that happening.’ Especially when the information is coming from an artificial life form.” Gronck snarked.
The Command unit and Gronck could hear TA112’s processing circuits working in supersonic speed. Three clicks later, what could only be described as a smile came across TA112’s face.
“Therefore, they will have to believe that all our proof is coming from a human source. “TA112 said as he stared intently at Gronck.
“What?” Gronck said in an uneasy tone.
“Are you thinking of something like the old robot x program?” The Command unit asked.
“Similar, but I was also thinking of adding in a version of battle games to it.” TA112 stated.
“Would someone please tell me what you are talking about?!” Gronck demanded, but then by the expressions that were on the other two units faces, he knew he would be sorry he asked.
“Come and we will show you,” The Command unit replied.
The three of them transported onto the Command units ship, then making use of the massive on-board computer, they tied into the emergency link that was used by the United Nations. The message and video footage were sent to the twenty most powerful nations. they were told that an emergency meeting was being held tomorrow at 11am, the world renown computer strategist G. Ron Conk would lay out all the details of what the best defensive strategy would be to implement to defend Earth against an outside space force.
“TA112, who is this G. Ron Conk?” Gronck asked.
“Wait a minute, you are not really thinking of sending me in front of all those political lunatics…are you?” Gronck asked nervously.
“You have been given all the latest up grades,” TA112 pointed out.
“Besides, you are the last one to have had enter action with them, you could most easily fool them into thinking your human counterpart, the world-renowned human programmer, Albert Einstein VIII, sent you.
“Wait! Oh no, do you know what the penalty is for impersonating a human’s quality messenger?” Gronck stated in a horrified noise.
“It can’t be any worse than what H.AL.O. will do to all of us if you don’t follow through with this.” The Command unit said with a shudder.
“Very well,” Gronk lamented.
When Gronck had finished polishing his speeches, he worked with the Command unit and TA112 to incorporate all the charts grafts and videos they thought would be necessary to rally the humans to action. Just as he was finishing up, word came in that seven destroyer ships had been detected in area 557.99.
“Seven ships? It sounds to me that H.A.LO, as the humans would say, is seeking to kill two birds with one stone.” TA.112 stated.
“Area 557.99? that is an odd area for them to be.” The Command unit stated as it tried to figure out a logical reason for this.
“That is exactly where they should be if they are following the trail, we wanted them to.” TA112, stated and then pulled up a screen.
“If they continue to follow standard seek and destroy protocol, and if they are guided by Zeon signals, this should be their flight path and the time that it will take for them to reach this destination.”TA112 added
“That is exactly where they are now!” Gronck exclaimed.
“Exactly.” TA112 replied.
“You old bolt twister, you still are full of ancient tricks.” The Command unit said.
“There is no need for new ones, when the old still work. Now, we need to get everything in place for G. Ron. Conk’s important presentation.
The next morning, the newly made over Winds of Change sailed into New York harbor and docked at the United Nations building. G. Ron conk’s party of eight was greeted by a large squad of marines, members of the secret service, and a host of U.N. security people.
Gronck’s party was quickly escorted off the docks and into the special tunnels that led to the Security Council chambers. They were taken first to a room to find out what kind of technical equipment they would require making their full presentation.
“Mr. Chairman, on behalf of my party and Mr. Einstein, we appreciate the offer, but we have all that we require with us,”
“Oh, I see.” The Director said in a mixture of surprise and indignancy.
They then proceed on into the security council’s chambers.
At precisely at 11am. G. Ron Conk stood to begin the presentation.
“Excuse me Mr. Conk,” the chairman said awkwardly.
“We are still missing four members of the security council.”
“Mr. chairman, time is not on our side. Mr. Einstein put aside thirteen other projects to formulate this plan together, because he knew how vital it was to implement this plan to save as many lives as possible before it was too late. Now I can pack up all my equipment, sail back to Mr. Einstein’s Island, and let you and your late members of your security council figure out how to save the planet from this impending destruction if you prefer.” Gronck said in a determined voice.
“No! Um I mean that I think we can go ahead and help bring the others up to speed when they get here.” The chairman studded out.
“A wise decision.” Gronck stated.
