Two pages this week? What is happening? I just finished my exam last week and I got too excited that I finally have some freedom. There is only one way to spend energy. Art.
Bumi, on the other hand, isn't so keen on all of this.
Just as he thinks he's safe... but he should have known better than to think he could outrun the police chief. Toph is so Toph, I just love her dialogue on this page. (So practical, does kind of make sense that they wouldn't want to use limited jail space on kids.). Also the Aang statue in the distance on that final panel as Toph talks about Aang is such a great touch, as a reminder of how Bumi feels Aang to be distant and out of reach in some ways.
Ah, and I just love Bumi's hopeful expression on the second page, of course he'd rather go to jail than face his parents. I love this whole page, Toph's expression when Bumi starts shouting, and the final panel overhead shot from the cat (cat-gator??)'s perspective adds to the kind of whimsical, humorous feel of the page.
Three children were born to two legendary benders - The Avatar and the Waterbender master. But even though the war has ended, it doesn't mean they won't have to deal with the unfair expectations and pressure from the legacy their parents have left behind. So what are they going to do now?
A Trilogy story of Bumi, Kya, Tenzin - the children of Aang and Katara.
