“Well,
that answers that question,” I said to myself as I went around to
the back of the robot.
Looking into it, I realized
it was more of a ‘suit’ than a robot. Not only its chest was
hallow but so was its limbs and head. It was obviously meant for
larger person than me to use considering
all the space there was.
I eyed the seemingly exposed wiring lining its insides with suspicion
before climbing into it.
I was startled while
I was getting in
as the robot stood up once both my feet were in it. The back of it
also started to shut behind me at the same time. Thankfully,
the jostling cause by it getting up actually
helped get
me into it faster and I didn’t get caught by its back panels. As
they finished closing up, it occurred to me how foolish I was being
to climb into a strange robot made with unknown
tech. I didn’t have much of a choice though. Not if I wanted to
save my friends from their alien
kidnappers.
My
regrets at getting into the robot were by no means soothed by the
pitch black darkness
inside of the alien machine. If
anything, it was intensified and was helped along by having lots
of long thin things start moving around on me. I
assume it was the wires I had seen earlier and they
wrapped around my arms, shoulders and chest before lifting me up so
I could look up into the ‘helmet’ part of the suit. There were
two small lights up there that probably would have lined up with my
eyes had I been the proper size
for
it. The robot was able to adjust their
angles
though and I was rewarded with a screen like image being projected
straight into my eyes.
A
multitude of alien symbols streamed across
it for a moment before it cleared and a few English words were typed
out on it.
