Chapter Three: Brie
“They’re taking a while to steal my ingredients,” Emilia noted. She was braiding Natsuki’s curly, shoulder-length hair.
Brie knew she was right. Blue and Gale had probably gotten caught. Karma. Brie silenced the thought. “We should look for them.”
“I’ll hold down the compartment,” Emilia said. “Someone has to take one for the team.”
Brie took a deep breath. He didn’t want to abandon Emilia. He smiled and saluted. “It’s been an honor working with you, Emilia Alvarado.”
She straightened up and saluted back. “It’s been an honor working with you too, Brie.”
Natsuki nodded at both of them, before turning to Emi. “I'll see you soon.”
Brie and Natsuki left the room. Brie scratched the side of his head. “I feel almost guilty dragging Blue into this.”
“Also, it was sort of disrespectful to rename him,” Natsuki added.
“What were we supposed to do? Call him Draco Malfoy?”
“I mean, yeah.” Natsuki turned around and face planted into a person.
“Uh, sorry.” Natsuki stood up and saw a boy with black hair, green eyes, and glasses.
“Erm, yeah, me too. It’s not your fault.”
Brie’s eyes then fixed on a scar on his forehead that was lightning-shaped. “Hey, are you Harry Potter?”
“Erm, yeah.”
Brie snorted, “Erm, okay.”
Natsuki glared at Brie.
“What, it was a joke? He said erm twice.”
Harry looked very awkward. Natsuki quickly turned to him. “I’m sorry. You’ve been through a lot. Do you mind if I introduce you to someone who looks up to you a lot?“
It looked as though Harry was restraining from saying erm. “Okay. I’m just buying some snacks.” He showed a pouch of gold and both Brie and Natsuki’s eyes went wide.
“Holy shoot you’re rich.” Brie said.
“Yeah, I guess… anyway, I’ll be in that compartment.”
Harry walked away. Brie grinned. “That went so well! He is kind of a show-off though, flashing all of his money.”
Natsuki groaned. “You are the worst.”
Brie hesitated before saying, “we have a task, now we just have to find Gale and Blue. I think Harry will really approve of the statue we’re making for him.”
Natsuki smiled. “It doesn’t really seem that way. He seems like he wouldn’t know what to do with it.”
That’s fair. Brie scoffed. “I beg to differ.”
Just then Gale and Blue came running out and into the compartment with Emilia. Natsuki shrugged and Brie grinned. “Let’s do this.” They headed into the room.
Gale was unloading the snacks. “I got us some pumpkin pasties and tons of chocolate frogs. I think we could make a chocolate sculpture. If we just-”
Emilia scooped all of them up and opened the chocolate frogs to put them in a pot to melt them. She had a whole setup with a pan and griddle. Brie’d given the KitchenTron 2,000 portable edition to Emilia for Hanukkah. She never went anywhere without it.
“Well,” Gale started.
Emi turned to them, “shhhh!” She turned back to the sculpture as she was crouched down on the ground.
