Heya! I'm Bellru, the seamstress of the Morpho Defenders!
Huh? You didn't expect me to be a Morpho Mon? Well, the Defenders are full of surprises, aren't they? Let me tell you a bit about the uniforms you're wearing!
The uniforms
The original Morpho Defenders uniform was designed by none other than Mr. Frederic Williams himself! Well, designed might be a bit of a stretch. He bought a wholesale pack of green tracksuits, and applied patches himself!
The uniform as we know it today was designed by Huberto Cavanza! Yes, THE Huberto Cavanza, founder of the luxurious Cavanza brand! He was commissioned by the Defenders to bring a professional, elegant look to the uniform, while staying true to its origins. With the Defenders growing in size and popularity, there was no way they could keep the cheap, self-made tracksuits as their uniform.
There is a variant with pants and a skirt with built-in pants. Every defender can pick their preference, the uniforms are not tied to gender. You can also get both if you want!
By the way, did you know that the uniform has regional differences? For every Morpho Defenders HQ, the uniform will have a slight variety. For example, the British uniform has been modified to have a larger head opening and collar, and has their rank number stars on the sleeves instead of the shoulders! Each regional variant has been modified by a local designer, based on the original design by Cavanza.
Material
The uniforms are made of a specific fabric blend that makes the uniform light and stretchy enough for physical activities and summer heat, but also protects from the cold in winter. There is a jacket variant that has a specific lining, for especially cold winters.
Alterations
Defenders are free to ask for specific alterations! While we have a good variety in sizes, of course each body is different and might need to have the uniform altered to have it fit better. I have offered Miss Evans to tailor her uniform so she can button up the top of her uniform, but she always refuses, saying “her bust was expensive enough, she might as well show it off”. Whatever that means!
You are also free to have some aesthetic changes to the uniform! Of course these are limited, after all you should still be able to tell that it’s the Defenders uniform! We offer shortening or extending pants and skirts, as well as shortening or extending the sleeves! I also once extended a Defender’s jacket, to make it look like a tailcoat! That was very cool!
The Colors
Each color of uniform stands for a Defenders department in the HQ. The color indicates the rank and department of a Defender.
BLACK are the uniforms of the apprentices.
GREEN AND PURPLE are the uniforms of regular working Morpho Defenders. These include patrolling Defenders, as well as Morpho Mon caretakers, assistants, consultants, teachers (with exceptions for lab teachers), administrators, accountants etc.
CYAN are the uniforms of the science departments and lab workers. On top of their uniform they are also often seen to wear lab coats.
RED are the uniforms of the machinery and weapons department. This includes both mechanics and engineers that work on robots, weapons and even prosthetics!
INDIGO are the uniforms of the medical department, nurses and medical lab workers! You can often see them work together with the science department.
WHITE are the uniforms of the Elite Morpho Defenders. They are a group of veterans, experienced Morpho Defenders, who take on much more responsibilities than regular Morpho Defenders. They are the only Defenders that have four stars on their shoulder patches, and our CEO has a variety with an orange cape, matching the color of the Defender’s badge’s ribbon.
Stars
The amount of stars on the shoulder patches indicate the rank and experience of a Defender. The minimum is one star, the maximum three (with exception for the Elite Defenders). For the apprentices, the stars indicate their year.
About Bellru…
You want to know about me? Haha, there isn’t a lot to say about me~ I came through a portal ten years ago, and very quickly took over the position as the Defender’s seamstress! My cousin Foxor helped me get accustomed to the work and etiquette of the Defenders, and they knew from my past that I have always loved working with fabrics! You know, back in our world, I was a seamstress too! I’ve been working for Humanus Type Morpho Mons, they aren’t too different in shape to humans! Sewing is my passion, and I feel like my work for the Defenders really makes a difference! Everyone is wearing my work, that makes me very happy! I hope to work for the Defenders for many more years!
