Amalia groaned out a bit, as the group slowly meander in the dense foliage of the forest. They had been at it, for what seemed to be a few hours more now, and the group had been growing restless. There was no end in sight for the forest this time, despite it taking Caelyn very little time to reach the cave the previous time she had been there.
While it was true, that Caelyn had grown to be a rather quick person, praised often for her agility and reflexes, this did not mean that it should have taken them the near half a day to reach their destination that it seemed it would at their current pace. "Alright, I guess we don't exactly have a choice in the matter..." Amalia finally spoke up, as they entered the same simial clearly as they had done many times previously. "We'll have to make camp here, get some rest before heading out once more."
As she said this, her two companions nodded their heads in agreement, with soon A'ari collapsing onto the ground of the clearing, the grass having a strange almost blood-like tint of red to it. "Aaah... I thought we'd never rest!" The beast-woman said, after sighing deeply, the clear stress in her voice as she spoke up. This, causing Caelyn to glare at her in her usual silence. "W-what? It's not like all of us have your weird endurance, Scarlet." A'ari then said, after a few moments of silence between the two, with Amalia awkwardly watching from beside them, staring at the two. Unsure of what to say.
Instead, it would be Caelyn who spoke up first, after A'ari. "That is not my problem, Gold, and we both know that." She said, her usual scowl on her face, as A'ari chuckled playfully, winking a bit at the dark elf, almost flirtingly. Their continued conversation once more leaving Amalia silent, blushing softly as she shuffled a bit with the packs they had brought with them, hoping to finish setting up a camp for them to rest at.
Standing up Amalia frowned a bit, glancing at the trees that encircled the clearing they were making camp in, unsure if the strange corrupted trees could even be used as kindling for a fire, or if a fire was wise to make in the Crimson colored Abyssal forest. Scratching her chin in contemplation, the young princess continued frowning as she focused on this task. This, of course, would mean that she wouldn't notice that A'ari and Caelyn's little conversation/argument had ended.
That is until A'ari snuck up behind the unsuspecting princess, and hugged her surprisingly. This caused Amalia to yelp in surprise, half from the sudden hug and half from where A'ari's hands landed. Upon the young princess's breasts. "A-ah! W-what do you think you're..." She began to say, in protest, before A'ari shushed her, one of her fingers sliding up to Amalia's lips.
"Shush now, you wouldn't want to alert anything that could be lurking in the trees, right?" A'ari said softly, playfully. "Besides, you're far too cute for me to not have a bit of fun. She continued, a coy smirk on her face as she soon backed off, shrugging her shoulders a bit lightly. "Okay, I'll be fair, if yah don't want me to do stuff like that with you, just say so now." She then said softly, a slight blush on her face as she did so, scratching the back of her neck in embarrassment.
"Ah, no... It's... It's just... I..." Amalia stammered, blushing a bit herself, as she looked away. "I'm just not used to being the girl who's getting flirted on... t-that's all."
"Is that so...?" A'ari said softly, smirking a bit once more, before slowly nodding a bit in understanding. Soon though, she shrugged once more, chuckling a bit. " 'sides, I actually came over here to ask what you're doing. You've been staring out into the trees for, like... and hour now."
"Ah... I... well..." Amalia stammered once again, not having noticed how much time had passed, as she looked away. Back to the trees. "Well, I was debating on if lighting a fire here would be viable, I don't know if these trees even burn. Or if it would even be safe, we know next to nothing about Crimson Forests, very few have returned from them, after all..."
At this revelation, A'ari slowly nodded, shrugging slowly once again, as she placed a hand upon her own hips, glancing out at the forest as well. "Ah, I suppose that's true. We really don't know what's out there." She said softly, nodding a bit as she chuckled softly. "A fire could alert things to our presence as well. That is if they aren't already watching us." She shrugged again, chuckling a bit as she did, her statement causing a nervous frown to appear on Amalia's face.
"While... While a fire normally would be used to light up the camp at night. As you've noticed, It's been overcast the whole time we've been here. I don't think this light is natural." Amalia said softly, shuffling a bit as she spoke, shaking her head a bit as she did. "So that rules that out, but... we still need a fire to do some cooking, right?"
At this, the two continued discussing the idea, before soon Amalia set off on her own, to gather some wood for the fire they decided should be safe enough to light. Soon after Amalia disappeared from the sights of the clearing, Caelyn shuffled over to A'ari's side, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Are you sure you're feeling alright Gold? We both know... why it's dangerous for you to be doing this kind of mission. Remember the last time we took on a Void Crystal?"
