My Sight. Tigress choice.

Chapter 5 - 4

Chapter 5 - 4

Jul 11, 2021

"I've been since I was a kit healing the wounded, but now I think I will be more useful to the clan as a warrior." I got up and walked to Hollyfur with the kits on my back. “But that doesn't mean that I won't help you anymore. If you need me, just call me and I will gladly put my knowledge at the service of the clan. " "So it will be then, but like every clan warrior, you will begin as an apprentice." meowed Crystalstar. I lowered my ears. Was it really necessary? In other words, I know a lot about the clans from the stories “Crystalstar, with all due respect, do you think I really need someone to teach me how to kick someone or throw the enemy against a tree? "Hey, don't be flustered. There is much more to being a warrior than knowing how to fight or hunt. But for now go rest, we will do the ceremony at moon high. Everyone, go back to your chores. " The crowd dispersed. "Okay, Crystalstar" I said, and went to my bed. I needed to get some sleep. The queens took their kits and I could see Blacksmoke leaving the camp with her apprentice. I closed my eyes dreaming about what it would be like to be an official clan member, I could go to gatherings, I would hunt for the star clan, I could have my own mentor, a noble cat like the ones in the stories that will teach me the warrior code and maybe even can have my own apprentice. But Night? Will he be okay without me? " I woke up again in a land of silhouettes. All running happily through those green, windy hills. I approached cautiously. There seemed to be no signs of the bad silhouettes from the other time, so, I took advantage and played with them, although they did not seem to notice my presence, I enjoyed running through those wide territories. The tailwind seemed to want to help me move forward, I ran aimlessly, following the breezes that guided me. I no longer remembered the last time I felt such pure freedom. The roar of my guts and sharp claws clawing at me, pulled me out of my sleep. When I woke up, I saw a ball of white fur sleeping on my back. "HopeKit? ... What are you doing here, little one? Shouldn't you be in the nursery? I asked, half sleepy. The she-kit did not respond, I carried her on my tail and got up, careful not to wake her. I went to the nursery, left Hopekit in the nest with her mother, and went out to go to Hollyfur's den. As I entered I saw the deputy, a large, muscular tom, full of scars, but one in particular caught my attention. As a healer I had healed for many cats, most of them used to return with the same wound reopened so many times, that I ended up recognizing the cat just by looking at the injury. The oldest scar on that cat was one that crossed his back with the peculiar spiral shape at the beginning of its tail, which in a way was familiar to me. The deputy seemed to have a peaceful sleep, but the treatment that Hollyfur applied to his wounds needed to be changed. I went deeper into the den to see Hollyfur sleeping in her nest. I went to look at the herbs she had. “I'll apply the tormentil myself. I better let Hollyfur rest.” I thought. Furthermore, I covered my nose with my tail, the deputy stank of sewer, didn't he know how to groom himself? I made a new mixture this time, adding some burdock root, wild garlic and calendula. To finish, I placed in front of him a leaf with juniper berries, poppy seeds for pain and a prey from the fresh kill pile. Upon approaching me head-on, I observed noticeable features of fatigue and exhaustion, it almost seemed that he hadn't slept on moons. “I think this'll be enough. That mixture leaves a very bad aftertaste in the mouth, yuck! I'd better go hunting a bit, I need to get that flavor off my tongue. " I thought. As I left the camp, my guts roared again. "I am hungry ... since the morning I haven't eaten anything" After a short hunt I went to a stream near the camp, I had managed to hunt a small rabbit and a mouse. When I heard the wind crashing on the leaves across the water for a moment, I could see wide hills with hardly any trees. But seeing, the smell of other cats was present. I hide the prey and bent down to drink a little when my guts roared again. I perked up my ears when I noticed a slight movement among the bushes on the other side.
"Hello? ..." meowed a young voice rang out. "Um ... hello?" I replied. "Are you from the echo clan?" the voice asked again. "That depends, who's asking?" I replied. "I can't tell you, they didn't let me talk to EchoClan cats." replied. "Why's that?" I asked. "Are you from the EchoClan, yes or no?" Ask quickly again. "And keep your voice down, or they'll catch me." "No, at least for now, what is your name mysterious voice from the bush?" I asked with a little laught. "Hummingbirdpaw, and you?" "Tigress" I replied. "I think it's an apprentice." I thought. "Why they don't let you speak to the EchoClan, Hummingbirdpaw?" "Orders from my mentor" "Hummingbirdpaw ¡for all the breezes! Where are you ?!" a deep voice hissed.
"I have to go, bye!" Hummingbirdpaw meowed and left. From across the stream, I could hear voices. "You weren't on the border of the stream of the wind, were you?" "I-I just-went hunting." "I hope, for your own sake, you haven't met any hateful echo cat." he meowed between growls. "N-no sir." Hummingbirdpaw's stuttered. "Grumpy gills." I thought, feeling a slight twinge of pity for the apprentice. The moon was almost up. I finished smoothing my fur, returned to camp, and left the prey in the fresh kill pile. To my surprise, the cats were once again monopolizing the entrance to the medicine den. In the crowd I saw Lynxshine and walked over. "Lynxshine what's happening?" I asked. "Apparently Stormwings wake up." she replied. "But why all the fuss?" "He's telling what happened in his mission, let's get closer." The kits were able to easily slip past the cats. In the middle of the crowd, Blacksmoke's head appeared, helping us forward. In Hollyfur's den were her, the leader, Blacksmoke, Whiteblaze and finally SunnySky with her kits, Cherrykit and Aspenkit. The deputy was lying in his nest, with Whiteblaze at his side. In the time I left they must have cleaned the mud and dirt from his fur, now he showed a thick and long dark tabby pelt. "What happened, Stormwings?" the leader asked calmly. “We went… to the Shadow tribe's camp, after several moons of spying on the area. My warriors and I were able to analyze how many hostages there were and try to find a way to get them out of there.” The deput's gaze flickered, he scratched the ground with his claws with a look of pain. “Never expect to see such pain gathered in one place again. There were so many kits …… the shadow separated them from their mothers by force, and the queens that revealed themselves for her kits sake…. ” Stormwings fell silent, lowered his ears and looked up at the starry night sky. "Can you tell us what they do with them or why they capture them?" asked the leader. "They use them as hostages to get territory, food or information, they train them as soldiers and those who don't resist there ... May the star clan take pity on them." replied the deputy. "We spent weeks observing and analyzing each of their routines, members, paths and patterns of action, but at the moment of truth ... it turned out that there were many more ... we were outnumbered and ..." I stopped paying attention. Old memories filled my mind, that scar, that smell, that voice, that expression ... I was sure I had seen them before. "What happened to the other cats you left with?" Sunnysky asked. "Mintnose and Willowleaf" “They… they didn't make it. They died in combat with honor, and even so. "He gave a growl of frustration." I could even take their bodies to give them the worthy burial they deserve as clan warriors. "Crystalstar, did something happen in the territory while I was away?" asked the deputy with a worried look. "I've taken care of assigning the routines in your absence, don't worry." meowed Whiteblaze. "I'm afraid so, Stormwings, but ..." Crystalstar interrupted the sentence, while with her tail she indicated to me to get closer, but my mind was still in the clouds so strong that Blacksmoke had to make me land with a gentle push. “A week ago, they infiltrated the camp and tried to kidnap Lynxshine's kits. If we were able to return that sewer scum to the spillway where they belong, it was partly thanks to this young she-cat " The deputy got up with some help from the WhiteBlaze and the medicine cat. Seen from the front, he was taller than Blackcloud in stature. Her eyes widened in surprise, and he smiled. "well, well, well, who was going to say it? Tigerkit?" "¡Toto?"
