For some reason, I thought this week that foregoing my usual mannequin-usage in Clip Studio Paint would save me some time. It took me about the same amount of time, and the art came out looking questionable. Lessons learned.
Also, Arthur's shirt isn't magical, I just didn't want to play with the text tool and keep forgetting it. he's got a lot of details to add in, so I probably forget at least one thing every panel he shows up. Oh well, one day I'll get this down properly. :P
I'll be using somewhat less halftone in the future, I think. It's still Halftone comic, so Halftone will continue to be a part of it, but I find using large swathes of it may be distracting, and I'll be trying to minimize it for more traditional shading techniques.
Halftone City.
Superheroes and supervillains duke it out every night here, causing untold property damage, a PR nightmare, and plenty of civilian casualties. Between that and your typical everyday street crime that goes beneath the notice of most superheroes, you don't want to live here, let alone work in the Police Department.
So who exactly is brave or crazy enough to take the HCPD night shift?
One hard-drinking, hard-smoking detective trying to change his ways from Noir to Nice guy;
One alien from a species that accidentally almost tried to take over the world;
One beat cop laced with macabre cheer who never goes a minute without a smile come hell or high water;
And a rookie who really likes keeping her internet friends updated with the day's selfie snapshots.
And these poor suckers have to deal with supervillains alongside your typical every-day street crime? Great. They're doing great. Couldn't possibly be better.
