SPARTACUS
"Jesus--wha--!" Gannicus cursed as I planted my fist into his stomach right before I finished him by giving a blow against his jaw. He flew a meter further and landed on his back where he started to laugh as he spat out some blood. "What...the..fuck...man," he asked, breathless. "You were...just sick! You shouldn't be--" I pulled him up from the ground. "T-this...strong..."
Well, what could I say? I felt great. I felt better than I had felt in years. Things finally seemed to all fall into place for good ol' Dean. I made good money, I worked with lovely friends and now I have also gotten myself the guy that I've been longing and pining for for all these years. He wasn't my boyfriend yet, but I was gonna make him mine. Soon.
"I agree, it's not fair. When I recovered from flu not too long ago, I was a fucking wreck for weeks! And you just waltz back into training and resume to be the best of us all," Crixus shook his head. "Ugh. Not fair, I tell ya. Not fair."
I grinned like an idiot, thinking back about my "sick leave". I had only been sick for half of it. The other half of the time, I was fucking Ryder to heaven and back.
"Oh, fuck--oh, fuck me! I'm so close, S-spartacus," he moaned.
"Dean," I corrected him before I grabbed his hips tighter and slammed myself against him, deeper than before.
It started to irritate me when he moaned out the name Spartacus. I know it was I that ordered him to call me by that name but there was this urge inside of me to hear him moan out my real name. It has been on my mind for quite some time now.
"Hahhh--D-dean, ahh...!" he cried out.
It had been so fucking beautiful to hear it spilling from his lips.
Dean.
"I need to let these war wounds be treated," Gannicus announced, snapping me out of my thoughts, and he left me and Crixus to go and get himself some assistance with his injuries.
"You wanna train with the net?" I asked Crixus, as I wiped off some sand from my arms. I really wondered why Gremelda didn't just give us an arena with a mat or something. But no, she wanted to keep the sand because it was just like the good old days.
"No fucking way," he replied. "Wanna do swords?"
"Neh, just did that before my fight with Gannicus. Lasso?"
"My God, you know I hate that even more than the net," Crixus answered. "I'm just gonna practice on spear throwing."
"Ok, dude," I answered.
Maybe I could practice my blind fighting skills with Oenomaus or something. I really needed to do that, even though I didn't wanna. However, right now, I was in a good mood, and I felt that nothing could get me in a grumpy mood.
"I can't handle that disgusting happy grin on your face anyway," Crixus said, making me laugh. "I don't like you like this, your face looks so happy, it's scary."
"How's your dick, by the way?" I asked him. "Is it still attached to your body?"
"Shut up." He laughed too. "At least be careful, man, because I know why you're smiling and I don't want you to get into trouble or whatever."

In the evening, I had sneaked into Ryder's room, where we currently laid in his bed, watching some show. I wasn't paying attention to the tv, though, as all my attention went to him. The way he felt in my arms, so soft yet strong. The way he smelled, the way his body rocked up and down as he breathed slowly. He was warm and he made me feel warm too.
When the show was over, he rolled off my chest and on his belly and looked at me. "Do you ever miss the people back home, your friends and family, I mean? I'm missing my parents more these last few weeks." He sighed.
"I do," I admitted. "Why do you suddenly miss them more?"
"I don't know."
"Are you unhappy in Invicta?"
"No, not at all," he replied.
"That's cool. I would be kinda offended if you would have said that you would be," I replied, smiling.
"I'm not. I don't think I ever said it before but Bentley is actually my best friend. We've known each other for a few years already."
"Yeah, I kinda figured that out that day you came back drunk from the boss's office. You called him Mike instead of Bentley. I could feel that you guys had a bond."
"Gosh, don't remind me of that night."
I pinched his nose. "You were cute."
He slapped my hand away but smiled at me. "I was shameless." He then shamefully laid his forehead against my chest.
"Speaking of our boss, why is that man still here?" I asked. "I would have thought he would leave straight away but he's here for a few days already."
Ryder looked up at me and bit his lip before he laid his head on my chest again, this time taking a comfortable position, and said, "I don't know..."
"Are you sure?" I asked. The way he said it made me a lil suspicious. "You don't have to answer me. You can also say that you don't want to answer, then I leave it but I don't want you to lie to me."
It was quiet in the room for some time.
"I guess it's maybe because of me. But I'm not sure."
I wiggled myself out of his embrace and sat up. I guess he just gave me the green light to keep on asking. "What do you mean?"
"Well...before I got a job here, something happened..." He sat up too. "I sometimes got hired for stuff and this time I got paid to go on a date--"
"You mean you worked as a..."
"No! Not as an escort or anything, if that's what you mean. I was only paid to go on a date, nothing more," he clarified. "Anyway, in the middle of the date, the guy told me I needed to leave. I found it strange because I thought we had good fun and I kinda liked him.
Ok, that made me jealous, but I swallowed it away as he continued with his story.
"And then...that guy got murdered after I left the date. And on top of that, he appeared to be a shady kinda cop, a dirty cop. His family is known in the underworld. In fact, he was a cousin of William."
"No way... Did you know William too?" I asked.
"No, I just found out that they were cousins the day I was ordered by William to follow him. He then told me. I'd never seen him before."
Murder, cops, underworld. This sounded like bad news to me. I didn't like this at all! "They all think that you killed that guy?" I asked.
"No, nobody thinks I did it...or maybe the cops do, I don't even know. Pfff, it's all just such a mess!" He sighed. "But at least William seems to believe me and he said that he will deal with it all. That I can leave Invicta when it's all cleared."
"And you trust his words?" I asked.
"Yeah, I do." There was no hesitation in his voice whatsoever.
I really hoped he was right. What if something would happen to him?
"I don't like this."
"Hey...it's gonna be ok. See that's why I didn't tell you. You're the kind of man that gets worried straight away."
"Well, can you blame me?" I asked.
He crawled closer and kissed me on the lips. "You don't seem worried that we are doing this behind Invicta's back..."
He had a point there. "Actually, until William has sorted it out, maybe we shouldn't," I replied.
"Are you kidding me?" He pushed me on my back and straddled me. "You shouldn't always change your mind about things. Don't do that. Besides that, I'm a grown man too, even older than you are and I'm saying we won't stop this."
Pathetic as I was, when his lips and tongue hit my neck I was already mush. "And who says that you are the boss?"
"Well, you're not my Gladiator now, you didn't win me, so...right now, I'm promoting myself as your boss."
