Alvar danced alone under the moonlight, carefully hidden away in one of the few meadows in Aiyanna of the Four. Her wolves paced at the tree line, eyes glowing as they kept out a watch.
Alvar’s eyes were shut as she moved to music only she could hear, swaying and twirling in patterns that would confuse any outsiders.
She did not often practise magick, preferring to let the forests form naturally. But this wasn’t to change their growth nor their numbers.
She danced for the people of Elswyth, many of whom had never met her – nor that they ever would.
She danced for the house of Joy, who had listened to her words and done their best not to take advantage of Aiyanna of the Four and its guardian.
She danced for the safety of all her people, all the denizens of the forests.
She danced for the pact that she had made with the house of Joy, that their agreement would take root into the land.
She danced for her wolves, the other guardians of Aiyanna who had devoted their lives to protecting the forests.
She danced for herself, that she would stay true and determined, no matter what the future would bring.
No one other than the wolves saw the light emanating from her, the same green glow that had changed the world so many years before.
The light spread throughout Aiyanna of the Four and out into Elswyth, tucking around those that Alvar had danced for and binding into their hearts.
