When he reached the cafeteria, he looked for the most secluded seats. Soon after, Bill arrived with two cardboard cups of black coffee.
—I told you I wanted cappuccino.
—If you don't want it, you can give it to me.
Philip sighed deeply, picked up the sugar on the table and put an inordinate amount in the coffee.
—What were you talking about before school started today? —He said as he stirred the coffee with a spoon.
—Something strange is happening in the city. While the patrols of the containment officers have increased, there's something that worries me.
—What?
—A lot of people are coming to the clinic because of injuries or more serious things related to incidents or disputes in the lower part of the city. And that's just in our clinic; I don't even want to imagine what must be coming into the hospitals.
Philip swallowed half of the coffee in his glass, grimacing strangely at how sweet it was.
—But no one talks about it. Only Psychis-related cases are mentioned.
—Exactly, and that increases the number of people in favor of dark reform.
It was very strange, the direction everything was going in. It wasn't just what Bill was telling him anymore. For him, it was something happening all around him, something perceptible wherever he went.
—It's as if they were doing it on purpose. What did the containment department report say about what happened on the 21st?
—That they're sure someone did it on purpose and little else.
—Even I can come to that conclusion —said Philip before finishing his coffee and pausing for a moment to reflect. During that pause, he remembered something—. Wait, it didn't say anything about some object they found in the crater?
—I don't remember seeing anything about that.
Philip scratched his cheek. Something was starting to bother him.
—Ethan had just told me that his father, the department's director of operations, had told him they'd found something.
—Are you implying that the containment department is withholding information?
—This all sounds very strange, but they must have the answer to what happened in the city center.
His expression began to grow darker and darker. Bill, without losing his inanimate face, began to fall into his friend's nervousness.
—Philip, calm down a little.
The dark-haired boy clenched his hands tightly.
—You have to understand me. I saw it, it happened in front of my eyes. If I don't do anything, I won't be able to live in peace anymore.
Bill closed his eyes and lifted the coffee to his mouth. After savoring the bitterness of the drink, he spoke with his usual calmness.
—And what are you going to do now that you know this?
—Don't you have some way of finding out what they're hiding? Check their servers, classified reports, something like that.
—I could, but it's too risky. If I'm found out, I'd be charged with treason.
—Then I'll find out my way.
Bill rather nervously took another sip from his glass.
—Ugh. It's cold already —he said unhappily as he raised the glass to Philip. I wish you luck.

Along with the night came an intense drop in temperature. The wind was very strong, but that was a good thing for him.
The vigilante christened "Zero" flew between the buildings. He was dressed in a dark green sports outfit, along with a dark green scarf covering his face, black glasses and a metallic glove. His secret identity is Philip Mrown II, the son of a world-class businessman.
He knew clearly where he was going. Aided by the thrusters under his white trainers and the GPS installed in those glasses, he reached the rooftop of a building opposite the headquarters of the dark energy containment department. Due to the curfew, there wasn't a single civilian on the street, but there weren't many special agents from the department either.
—Getting in will be easy, the real problem will be inside —said Philip, talking to himself.
At that moment, all the agents outside started running towards the headquarters building. Philip was puzzled by the situation, something didn't seem right. He moved a little closer to get a closer look at the situation, but at that moment he was swept away by the force of a shockwave that threw him several meters backwards.
The containment department headquarters exploded.
Philip got up and headed towards the site of the explosion. Huge debris was falling, the power was out in the area and there was a lot of smoke and ash.
—What happened here?
A noise from several pieces of rubble piled up in the center of what was the building caused him to hide behind a fallen pillar. He theorized that it was to blame for the explosion, so he stood and watched.
Several huge chunks of concrete rose several meters into the air, out of the space they occupied came a girl. Philip was shocked to see her. Dressed in a long red qipao with gold embroidery, was the girl who had watched him at school during lunchtime. The girl with Asian features, with long, thick hair that was currently standing on end. In her left hand she clutched tightly a black sphere; in her right hand was a glowing purple stone. The girl observed the gem carefully.
—So this is the final appearance of an Eyre stone —she said, laughing deviously.
