“Well...umm, Sorhin was used for experiments…That’s where people messed with the Hellstone. As I told you before, they experimented on animals...though they never got to humans…”
“Was a tiger-fish creature part of the experiments?”
“Oh you talking about C1-19? Actually one of the earliest, and the first one to actually work.”
“The creature was combined with pure Hellstone, guess that’s why I look like this.”
“Yet,” Matt continued. “then… It got worse when the idiots at Techtronum decided to test Hellstone in bombs, developing the material as a sort of weapon. And they now stole my nanotech technology! That’s the reason they were here, the reason I was shot and well…all this! Damn Techtronum to hell!”
The scientist made a small metallic fist and threw it to his side in the blank white wall of the current room. He immediately retracted it.
“Ah sorry for that… Now getting back to the bomb, some good people working at Sorhin tried to warn citizens, some of which succeeded and subsequently hid them in bunkers Techtronum had developed. They were decently safe, at least avoiding full-on death. Well, not all of them…I heard about an explosion in a certain bunker, in which everything crashed against the wall, and the door that locked them out of the inside was blown off. Those poor people…”
“Interesting,” Gellio answered, knowing exactly what this was. He was getting traces of frustration back, but he threw them to the side, and began focusing more on Matt.
“So that’s what I can say of this whole ordeal,” Matt continued. “Now, could you please tell me what happened to me? The simple explanation you gave didn’t explain things very well.”
“Ehmm…well I’m not a big scientist like you are, but I know that my body is made of a certain…dust that the bomb was made of, yet I think beneath that outer layer I’m Hellstone? And I guess that’s how I merged you with your suit…? I’m still trying to figure this out.”
“Ok so that ‘dirt’ you mentioned, is actually the dried state of Hellstone. Dried Hellstone does not have anything special, because its properties have been used up. So what matters to us is the inside, where the actual properties are held. That’s the pure Hellstone, the one that gives you the abilities you have. Yet once that Hellstone is used up, which strangely it hasn’t been, it would convert to that ‘dirt’.”
“Well…so going back to your merging, I believe I have given you some of this blue fire that’s inside of me…the pure Hellstone as it's called? So then well you’re now one with that nanotech suit you got.”
“So I’ll never get my body back…like ever?”
“I don’t think so.”
"Well, that’s inconvenient.”
“But you have the nanotech’s abilities, now, don’t you?”
“I guess, eh…I’ll have to get used to this. Oh, now that I think of it, I didn’t really ask this before. What’s your name?”
Gellio stared at him. He had already caused a huge ruckus at the city, his plan to conceal himself had failed. So Gellio wanted to leave everything behind, he needed to be someone or something else. The mention of the name Gellio could already be dangerous in itself, let alone someone seeing him. Matt was influential, he had connections, and he’ll surely connect the dots and piece his true identity with just his name. Yet what was he to be called? Gellio needed something even he’d recognize himself by. But suddenly, and quickly, it came to him. Gellio didn’t even recognize if that was his own thought, or how randomly it came to him, but he had it.
“My name…” Gellio said, breathing deeply and thinking about the huge change ahead of him, what this new identity would entail. It looked to be something simple, but looking at what he was now, it would be something monumental.
“My name is Ahem.”
