Where Angels Die

A Sweet Goodbye - Part 2

A Sweet Goodbye - Part 2

Aug 23, 2021

About 15 durichj’x away from my house there was a hill with a huge nokantori on the top, from where you could see the entire city and if you were zajanoi part of the ocean, I founded it one day when I was more or less 9 and my parents were fighting because of my fault so I ran away, after that I used to go there when I was fuiraleh or when I needed to think and there was no way I could stay at home, I hung lanterns on the nokantori branches so I could stay there until it was dark, it was my special place, and it was just ideal for a "murninzaah". Once there, I turned on the candles inside the lanterns and organized everything, I also realized that I had forgotten the imchjnale blanket at home, but I didn't had time to go home and back, because it was already 17:28, so I went to Julia's house hoping she wouldn’t mind sitting down on the cold ground.

When I arrived at 17:47, I saw Julia sitting down on the front stairs of her house with a red imchjnale blanket on her legs, and wearing an orange dress, her pair of white shoes and a light blue thin jacket, she so looked beautiful.

- How did you know I was missing a blanket? - I asked her while smiling confused.

- I saw you passing by in your bike through the window, and notice the basket but no blanket, so I assumed you forgot it and brought my own- she answered with cocky smile.

- Of course you notice that, why do you have to be so perceptive? - I said laughing embarrassed.

- Is just one of the many gifts that were given to me - she said laughing sarcastically.

- Anyway… Are you ready Kovar? - I said.

- More than you are Hadsan - she answered, eventually that became like our luchjmante kri barzhet[1]. Julia sat down on the back of my bike and putted her arms around my torso, and when we were ready, we began to cross the city while the light of the sun began to fade.

- What are we doing here? - she asked me when we began to go up the hill.

- You will see soon - I replied. Up there I left my bike on the ground near the nokantori and when I turned back, I saw Julia looking to the sky with her eyes full of wonder.

- Are you okay? - I asked her.

- How did you found this place? It is beautiful - she said without taking her eyes off the sky, I didn't want to tell her the "tragic" story of how did I found that spectacular view and ruin the moment, so instead I tried to change the subject.

- That’s a story for another day - I finally said.

- Okay then, so what is that delicious smell? - she said looking to where the imchjnale basket was.

- I'm glad you ask, but first let's sit down - I answered while I putted Julia's imchjnale blanket on the ground. We sat on the blanket, and I opened the basket.

- Welcome to the “Farwell Imchjnale” Hakmetali[2] Kovar, tonight's menu includes cheese sandwiches, jirachmel tea and a very special surprise - I said trying to be serious, but in that moment, Julia began to laugh like crazy, ruining my attempt of being serious.

- Well havarizh’te Kromtareff [3] Hadsan - she replied still laughing.

- Did you do all this by yourself? - she added.

- Of course I did, don’t you dare question my cooking abilities - I answered with a laugh, and gave her one of the cheese sandwiches, but in that instance reality interrupted.

- Julia! - someone shouted, Julia stood up from the ground like if she had just see a ghost, then a girl with messy red hair, big brown eyes, wearing glasses, a pink oversized sweater, grey leggings and no shoes appeared in front of us.

- Julia Kovar, how many times do I have to tell you to charge your stupid echjtalu?! - she said mad.

- Demiah’jaru, I didn't even bring it here, but how did you know where I was? - Julia answered and came closer to her.

- I saw you through my window when you passed by my house and wait a second is that Luke Hadsan? - she said lost.

- Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, but as we were both alone during this whole nachtrajari, we actually became azhnerechj’x - Julia answered a bit nervous.

- Luke, she is my best azhnerechj Bianka Mlynar, and well Bianka you already know who Luke is - Julia said and I stood up from the ground.

- Nice to meet you Bianka - I said trying to be polite.

- Wow, you're even more of a fernako in person - Bianka said.

- Wait, what?! - I said, somehow screaming.

- Okay know that we are clear on that, what are you doing here?! - Julia interrupted a bit mad too.

- Well demiah’jaru my queen, but your parents asked me to look for you, and tell you to reach them because they believe that you had been kidnapped, so go there and reach them! - Bianka answered in a very rude way and giving Julia her echjtalu.

- Demiah’jaru Luke, I forgot to tell them I was going out tonight - Julia said sighing, she took Bianka's echjtalu and went a few steps away from the nokantori.

After a few seconds of silence, Bianka sat down in the blanket.

- So, Luke you must be some kind of wurntikoi[4] - she said while looking around the place.

- What are you talking about? - I asked her very confused.

- Well this is obviously a murninzaah and its Julia we are talking about, so... - she said this time looking to me.

- This isn't a murninzaah Bianka, is a goodbye imchjnale, and Julia knows it - I said trying to sound convincing.

- Luke, Julia isn't stupid, she knows very well this is a murninzaah, but she is too sweet to admit it, and this is not the way to get her if that is what you’re trying - she answered.

- I don't understand, this is perfect - I said lost and a little worried.

- What I’m trying to say is that she isn't the type of girl that goes to all the parties, or is always fixing herself, or that makes 15 new azhnerechj’x everywhere she goes or that falls for every guy that tell her she is pretty, no! Julia is the type of girl that stays at home on a Zhelverika[5] night spending time with her family, the one who is smart and loves talking notes, who isn’t that focused in her looks, that is shy and the one who have trust issues, so this stuff really doesn't impress her as much as you may think - she said and stood up, then Julia came back, so really couldn’t say anything back.

- Okay, now that my job is done here, I can go - Bianka said.

- Oh, and bar’ssajani to both of you tomorrow, you will need it - she added and went downhill. The rest of the night was depressing, even though Julia seemed to enjoy it, Bianka opened my eyes to a reality I didn’t want to accept and took away the sweetness of the moment, I still gave Julia her zachjnyta present and she loved it, or at least I think so. Around 19 hours, I took Julia back home, she looked ultari, but I wasn't and when she ask me about it I deny it. When I arrived home, it was still empty, so I went upstairs to my bedroom to organized everything I needed for the Personality Test, and to hope that I never had to see Bianka again.
