The next morning was odd. When I woke up Rynn was on my porch pacing back and forth like she was in a movie. Smoke was rising out of her silhouette so I assumed she was smoking. Since when did she smoke? I could hear faint voices, but I wasn't able to makeout any of the words. All I knew was that they were both angry. She turned back to face me and I closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep again. I guess it worked because soon she walked back inside. She still looked frantic, as if she was deciding something. Eventually she opted to crawl back into bed. She laid with her back against me. She was tense as she laid down, almost as if she didnt wanna be here. I took this as my que to “wake up”
I rolled over and put an arm around her, “Good morning,” she smelled strongly of cigerette smoke, “what's wrong?” I asked nonchalantly.
“Oh, nothing,” She faked a smile, “Macy just called me, I have to go.”
Wow she was a horrible liar. I wasn't sure if I wanted to call her out on it or not yet, and before I could make that decision she was already packing the few things she brung.
“You lie like a rug, what's wrong?” I asked lifting the blanket motioning for her to come join me again.
She came back and laid down before speaking, “You can't get mad, okay?” she looked up at me, with terror in her eyes. It hurt to see.
“Of course not, rose. What is it?” I tried to not make a deal but I was starting to get worried.
“So, you know how my father runs a big law firm down in Colorado, right?” I nodded, “Well, I’m supposed to go down and work for him this summer. The agreement was that if I get a job before then, or during the summer, that I can stay up here and do whatever I want, But if I don't then I’ll have to move down there and stay until I do.”
I tried to keep an open mind, “Why’d you agree to that if you’re so discontent with it though?”
She looked down again, “Because it meant he’d pay for my college, and when I agreed to it I don't have a Beautiful woman on my arm.”
“Summer isnt for another two months though, so what will you do in the meantime?” I asked.
“Thats the scary part, since we have such little time, I think it’d be best if we just chilled.”
“Just chilled” Okay, Code word for “You were right you're just a fling” but I wouldn’t dare say that to her.
“Okay, whatever is best for you.” I tried to hide the obvious disappointment.
“I’m sorry.” She whispered. She was Obviously beat down by her conclusion, but it was her choice. She was the one who said she wanted to give us a chance.
I just held her, “It's okay, don’t worry.” I tried my best to soothe her. She was holding back tears.
“I should go.” She said after a few moments.
It was hard to see her go but I felt at rest knowing it could've been worse.
This is better. Right?
**IM SORRY OKAY i'm crying too guys dont worry :,(**
