Huaisang paced around his room, debating whether or not to be the first to message the man with who he shared stories and tears on that casino rooftop a few weeks ago, or wait for him to make contact first.
Wen Chao had pretty much forgotten about the night at the casino due to him drinking before he went there. He had just made it home from work and was scrolling through his contacts to delete some old ones when he came across one that read 'Huaisang'. He clicked on the contact wondering who exactly Huaisang was before remembering after a few moments.
Huaisang let out a huff and flopped on his bed causing his bangs to flutter slightly. He grabbed his phone and stared at the contact name for a few seconds before beginning to type.
As soon as Wen Chao realised who it was he quickly tapped on the contact and typed.
WC: Hey, I'm sorry for not messaging you sooner
A flash of three dots popped up on the chat signifying the other participant was typing before a message came through. Huaisang sat up quickly and blood rushed to his head, a few seconds of dizziness hit him before his eyes cleared and he stared at the text. Forgetting what he was originally going to type he sent a reply.
NH: No, it's okay, I was too cowardly to message first
Wen Chao felt a bit anxious after sending the message but before he knew it Huaisang had already responded. He stared at the message before coming to a realization and replied.
WC: You said your name was Nie Huaisang right..?
Heat flushed to Huaisang's cheeks as he reread the text, thinking to himself 'he remembers my name'.
NH: Yes, and yours was Wen Chao?
Huaisang laid back down on his bed on his side and held a pillow to his chest, his stomach had butterflies.
Wen Chao felt really awkward about what he was going to ask next because he was afraid that he would be wrong.
WC: Yeah, that's right..you don't happen to be Nie Mingjue's brother do you?
Huaisang's eyes widened and quickly typed back.
NH: You know da-ge?
Wen Chao was a bit surprised that he was correct about it. He wasn't really sure how to answer Huaisang but he did after a few minutes of thinking.
WC: I-um..you could say that. He and I use to hang out and drink sometimes. I haven't seen him in a few weeks though
Huaisang's expression dropped a bit as he thought about his elder brother.
NH: He hasn't been around much...
He replied and let his phone slip onto the bed as he rolled to face the ceiling, arms and legs spread out. A sigh escaped his lips, no one had heard from Mingjue in almost a month.
Wen Chao finally sat down on his couch and looked at Huaisang's message before responding again.
WC: I think he mentioned something about going to rehab to help stop him drinking so much
The vibration of Huaisang's phone on the bed reeled his attention back to the present. Looking at Wen Chao's new message, he began typing again.
NH: Yeah, but they're not allowed contact with anyone outside of the place or something. I don't know, really
Wen Chao sighed with a bit of relief, he wasn't sure if Mingjue actually ended up going to rehab but Huaisang's message confirmed it for him.
WC: I should probably go to rehab but I don't have the money for it and I barely have enough to pay for bills already
The new message piqued Huaisang's interest and he shot back two new texts.
NH: I could help you, be your personal rehabilitist
NH: Free of charge
Huaisang wasn't thinking of any consequences, just that he could help someone with a problem that he had grown up around.
Wen Chao was a bit hesitant because he had normally pushed everyone away and did everything on his own.
WC: Pff~ if you're sure
Huaisang's eyes lit up, a little giggle escaped his mouth.
NH: 100% ~(≧▽≦)/~
Wen Chao had a weird feeling in his chest that he had never felt before but it wasn't necessarily a bad feeling.
WC: So I assume we'll have to actually meet up for this? When are you free?
Huaisang dropped his phone and hugged his pillow while rolling around giggling, Wen Chao's message made him giddy and excited all at the same time. Getting himself together Huaisang responded.
NH: Sunday through to Wednesdays, I work the rest. Although I wouldn't complain if you visited during work hours ;)
Wen Chao's face heated up and turned red when he saw the winky face at the end of Huaisang's message.
WC: Haha my schedule changes every week but I'm free Monday though. I'll keep that last part in mind
A cheesy grin spread across Huaisang's face.
NH: We'll meet Monday then, it's a date. My place or do you have somewhere in mind?
Huaisang's stomach was doing flips as he thought about how their so-called date would go.
Wen Chao's face turned even more red from the word 'date'
WC: I don't get out much so your place is fine unless you think of someplace else
NH: It's settled then, my place it is
Huaisang popped his head up and looked around his apartment, he realised just how much cleaning he would have to do if he wanted to have space for someone to walk amongst all the strewn about fabrics and pins.
WC: Looking forward to it
Wen Chao pressed the lock button on his phone and set it down before covering his blushing face with his hands.
