Aiden's pov
I suddenly felt anxious to the point that I almost felt sick when the school's front gate came into view. Not even 5 minutes after I arrived, I was already getting picked on by some bullies.
"Hey, four-eyes." I hear a girl with the voice pitch of a bad car brake say as she and her usual "gang", who I called the gossip squad, made their way towards me.
"Move it, nerd!" She shouted at me. I stood up from the bench I was sitting on without complaining.
After all of the years that I've been at this school, I understand that it's better to do what the bullies say. It's better not to fight back if you don't want to end up with a broken nose.
I know you're probably thinking, "But, can't you just tell a teacher?" Trust me, I've tried multiple times.
The teachers at this school don't care about the fights or bullies unless it inconveniences them. They all hate kids and don't hide it. A lot of them are also absolute creeps. I can almost feel the PE teacher, Mr Fern, staring at me as I go to the corner that I usually sit in. It was a nice corner, away from everyone.
I sigh with relief when my back rests against the bricks of the school wall. I look at the small forest that was separated from the school by a fence. A squirrel climbed down a tree and made eye contact with me.
"Hey, buddy," I say to the squirrel. I chuckle at myself sadly.
"I'm seriously so lonely that I'm talking to a squirrel. Even you are going to leave me eventually," I say with a tinge of sadness in my voice.
I jump when the bell rings, the squirrel running away into the forest as I cover my ears from the headache-inducing sound. When the bell stops ringing, I get up and wait for everyone in my class to line up so I can go right at the back of the line.
Thanks for reading! I'm happy with this new update schedule thing that I have going on! I don't really have much else to say so... have a wonderfull day / night / whatever time it is for you right now and be sure to smile and take care of yourself! :)
