As my eyelids slowly opened and I let out a yawn I couldn't help but grin upon seeing the unfamiliar ceiling.
I guess my plan somehow worked out. I'm not the type to take risk, but seeing that b*stard touching my mother like that was intolerable. My blood boiled and all of a sudden a strange but somewhat familiar power surged throughout my body.
I clenched my right hand trying to remember that feeling.
*sigh*
I really don't wanna spend another minute with that man, but at least I can proceed with my plan. Originally I wanted to wait a few more years before taking action, but this isn't all too bad.
I rolled of my bed and carried on with my daily morning routine.
As I got out of the shower I couldn't help, but let out another sigh upon looking in the mirror.
The sight of a an almighty warrior was nowhere to be seen. The stench of blood that I grew up with, and the red stains that painted my body on a daily basis was gone. What was left of the one known as The World Conqueror was now a small boy no taller than 110 cm (about 3'7 in feet) with coal black eyes and a darker shade of chestnut brown hair.
I never was one to care about looks, but in this particular department I was without doubt better of than in my pervious life. At least as a kid.
*knock knock*
Before I could finish my train of thought someone knocked on the door to my room.
"Young Lord Kayn. Lord Gaillon wish for your presence in the training hall. Would you like me to escort you there?"
"No thank you, I can mange alone."
"Very well, then I'll be on my way."
How amusing. He may be an a*shole, but he still kept his word.
No one in the households regardless of their standing in the hierarchy would refer to me or my mother with respect, but it seem like Thomas made sure to have the maids and butlers treat us properly.
As I made my way out of the door I was met by an unpleasant sight.
*sigh*
"oh my, how can I help you guys? It's rare for you to pay me a visit so early in the morning"
"Disgusting. Can you believe it? I can't believe father let him and his wh*re mother into this manor. How can I sleep knowing that this trash is in the same house as me?"
Without even answering my question a short haired blonde girl spat out insults seemingly in disgust. Her hair was shoulder length followed by ocean blue eyes and pale white skin. She was about a head taller than me and carried a slender build.
"You're completely right sister. I can't believe father let such animals into the house!"
A boy slightly taller than me answered. He also carried blond hair, although a darker shade. In addition he also had ocean blue eyes, but unlike the girl he wasn't as slender. It's not like he was obese or overweight, but he was indeed a little chunky.
"You're right little brother. Who knows what kind of filth an- Wait did he just ask a question?"
They both turned their head towards me with a slightly dumbfounded look, but I couldn't exactly blame them. After all, I've for the most part played a dumb timid child. I didn't talk with anyone else than mother so I would usually just take their insults and beatings head on. Considering the kind of life I've been living in my previous life this was a walk in the park. They're still kids, although annoyingly obnoxious...
"Are you deaf? Well either way I don't have time for you guys. If you don't have any business with me I'll be on my way."
Without even giving them a glance I closed the door and walked towards them, wanting to make my way down the corridor. However right before I could do so they closed the distance a the boy stretched his arms out in a pushing manner
Well, at least I don't have to be as much as a pushover anymore.
As his hands came towards me in slow-motion I casually stepped to the side and grabbed his right arm. In a fluid motion I dragged him towards me and lightly put my right leg in front of his path causing him to stumble.
*thud*
In a matter of seconds he was lying on the floor.
"I don't have time to play with you guys today."
As I said that I started walking again. However yet again, something blocked my path.
"How dare you!? Don't touch my brother with your filthy hands ever again!"
Furious, she threw a fist in my direction, but yet again time seemed to go in slow-motion.
I inwardly let out a sight.
From fighting armies to fighting children. How low have I sunken.
I casually sidestepped again and made my was past her.
She hurriedly turned around throwing another fist, but I immediately caught her arm with two hands and threw her over my shoulder as I bent down.
She groaned as her back met the floor.
"Sister!"
The boy quickly ran towards the girls side as he knelt down to make sure she was fine.
Without even giving them another glance I continued walking as I made my way towards the training hall.
***
As I pushed the door open I was greeted by a fairly large room. It was for the most part empty, and looked more like an arena. The foundations seemed sturdy and the nostalgic smell of hard worked sweat was distinct. However what caught my eye the most was the two individuals in the room engaged in a spar. They both used a one handed wooden shield and sword.
One of the two was Thomas Gaillon my 'father' and the other I guessed to be Alan Gaillon. The eldest of the Mercer siblings. If my memory served right he was supposed to be 4 years older than me. His siblings was Chase and Sara which I met earlier in the morning. Chase is the same age as me, and Sara is 2 years older which means she's 7.
Unlike the other siblings which resembled their mother the most Alan seemed to share more similarities with his father. Like me also had coal black eyes, but instead of brown hair he had a dark caramel blonde hair color. He was also pretty tall for his age standing nearly 140 cm (about 4'6 feet) and carried a pretty robust build. It was obvious that he had been trained a remarkable amount.
As I entered the room the immediately stopped as they sensed my presence, both heads turned my way.
"Greetings. Seems like you guys had fun huh?" I said as I waved my hand in a casual manner.
"What's the meaning of this father?" Alan wore a confused and somewhat displeased expression has he shot a glare in my direction. Unlike the other two siblings he wasn't as barefaced and obnoxious about my existence. Though, it was somewhat obvious that he didn't like me he didn't harass me or my mother as far as I could remember.
That said, I hadn't came to a conclusion of how I should handle him. He was mature even for his age, but even if he didn't harass me he did nothing to stop his siblings or mother. Like Thomas he just turned a blind eye to their disgusting actions. Hence, I decided to feel him out to get a better understanding of what kind of person he is.
"How are you doing 'brother' Alan? Long time no see. I missed you. You should pay me a visit like brother chase and sister Sara does every now and then. "
His face quickly showed an exasperated expression. It nearly seemed like he wanted to spit out in disgust as he looked a me with furrowed brows.
"No need to show such a scary expression? Your little 'brother' pays you a visit and this is how I'm greeted?"
"You! Watch your wo-"
Before he could finish Thomas quickly intervened.
"Stop it Alan. Treat your brother with respect. You are mature for your age so don't lose your composure."
Heh, how amusing. Thomas seems to be wary of me? It's obvious he cares for Alan a lot more than the other siblings. Most likely he doesn't want me to 'deal' with him like I've planned to do the others. Thus, he rebuked him and had him treat me with respect instead. That way he could protect his son from humiliation and emphasize that he would stay true to our deal in the regard of having me and my mother treated properly.
However, that won't work. I've decided to test him out. It's to dangerous to live in a house with potential enemies. Moreover I need to discern my enemies and allies. If there's anyone in this household that I can use then I may be able to proceed with my plans even earlier. Up to now Alan is the only candidate.
"You heard him 'brother'!"
I ran towards him with a gleeful smile as I spread my arms outwards. My two years experience acting like a cute innocent child was put on display.
"Give me a hug big 'brother'!"
As I said that I could visibly see that their eyebrows twitched. Alan showed a disturbed expression as he looked at his father with eyes begging him to help out.
However, Thomas only shot me a glance as if asking "What the f*ck are you planning" before looking back at Alan.
"W-well you hear him. Give your brother a hug"
With a defeated expression he steeled his resolve and bent down to my height. He stretched his arms out in an awkward and rigid manner nearly like a robot as he approached me for a hug. As I looked at him doing his best to force a smile I laughed inwardly.
It looked like it took all his strength and concentration just to make a simple smile. It would be obvious to anyone that he was displeased. Moreover his eyes showed a nearly threatening look as if he was telling me to not test his limits. However, that was exactly what I planned to do.
As I hugged him his body stiffened and I could swear he shivered.
"You were amazing brother! I saw you and father fight and you were very very very strong!"
As I said that he awkwardly broke the hug and scratched his cheek with his index finger in an embarrassed manner.
"W-well obviously. I trained a lot."
He said as he stood up trying to look tall and mighty, as if he wanted to but his strength on display.
A child is a child after all. No matter how mature he's just 9. I mused.
"However, you still lost didn't you?"
"W-well father is strong after all, and I'm only 9!". He quickly defended himself.
"Hmm, is that really the case?"
"Yes, I can defend anyone my age! I'm the strongest among my peers!" He said that as he pointed towards himself with his thumb and chin held high.
Thomas inwardly facepalmed upon this as he looked at his son with a deadpan expression. It was obvious he wanted to rebuke his son for that remark.
Indeed. Even I could see that he was quite talented. However, there is countless geniuses in the world. Needless to say, there would always be someone stronger. I've myself had been taught that lesson the hard way, and I would gladly pass that on.
A mischievous and nearly malicious smile crept upon my face before it quickly disappeared.
"Really?!" I said, trying to sound impressed.
"yes."
"Then can we fight?"
