Moonlight
I just dreamt of what happened yesterday and I so wish I didn't. Everything repeated exactly the way it happened yesterday and it only annoyed me more.
I never dreamt of an incident that actually happened in my life. That too, exactly the way it happened. Something didn't feel right.
The only different thing about my dream compared to the incident yesterday was that, I actually got into that creepy house. I had a key which didn't look like any other normal key. It was shaped weirdly, I haven't seen such key in my life.
It was made out of a glass and the lock was made out of a glass too.
The most scary part of the dream was that, when I got inside the house, I saw a dead guy. The house was empty and had no single object or furniture in it. All there was, was a dead body of a guy my age. I was getting closer to see his face but then everything turned into a blur and I woke up.
All I could do was be glad that the dead body part didn't happen in reality. I took a deep breath and got up.
I ruffled my hair in confusion and annoyance. What was this suppose to mean? It wasn't the way a summer vacation should be started.
I just gotta admit that I was one unlucky person. I thought I was finally free from people and studies for a month atleast but look what happened now? Weird dreams started to bother me. When will I get to actually live my life?
I got out of my bed with heavy steps and went to look at the mirror. It's kind of like a habit of mine. As soon as I wake up, I walk towards the mirror to look at my reflection. Even if I don't get much pleasant sight to look at.
This morning, it wasn't just the usual messy reflection of myself. Something was happening to my eyes. My eyes were changed in colour. It was turquoise. Not dark brown anymore like it always was.
I brought myself closer to the mirror to have a better look at my eyes. As I did, I was right, my eyes really looked turquoise. I was absorbed looking at the reflection of my eyes until it turned back into normal. They were dark brown again. It caught my breath and scared me. I decided that it would only be my imagination and nothing else.
I brushed my hair, cleaned myself up and walked towards the kitchen where my mom and dad were. They wished me Goodmorning and I did too.
"You don't look too well my pal. Everything alright?" My dad asked in concern.
"What makes you think that, dad? I am fine." I lied, I wasn't, I was troubled in mind.
"Well, you look bit... Unwell. Never mind, you're fine." Dad's lips pursed into a smile.
I couldn't say anything back so I just smiled at him.
My mom started placing the breakfast on the table for us. We started eating but all I could think about was about those weird incidents.
"What's wrong, Moonlight? You seem to be ruminating about something." My mom sounded and looked concerned as well.
"Nothing... I just had a weird dream. That's all." I thought that shall keep my parents from questioning too much.
"You sure it's just a dream? Nothing else?" My mom asked again.
"Yeah...very much sure. Umm... Who lives in that house, mom?"
"Which house?"
"The one opposite to ours. The one which kinda looks old."
"I am not really sure, honey but I heard Mrs. Jenkins say, it has been emptied just recently though. So for now, maybe no one lives there. What makes you ask that?"
"Just curious. It looks...different."
"Yeah, it sure does."
After being done with the breakfast, I went back to my room but only to look at the house through my bedroom window again. I knew I had to go outside and check that house out. It looked like it needed to be explored. What better thing have I got to do anyway?
I decided to go outside and see what I could get from going close to that creepy looking house.
As soon as I reached near that house, I tripped on something and fell flat on the ground. I got up as quickly as possible and cursed the rock which I have stumbled upon. I hoped for nobody to have seen me fall as I wiped off the dirt on my knees with my hands.
I continued trudging towards the house. I froze when I got near enough to see it locked and that the lock was exactly the same like the one in my dream. I was starting to freak out. I was so lost looking at the lock and touching it to examine properly.
"Danger! Danger! Danger!" A horrified old man came from nowhere and stating yelling while pointing at the door.
"Who are you? What's wrong?" I asked as he was starting to freak me out more than I already was.
He just continued shouting "Danger!" and running away from me. I was too lost to stop him and ask him what was wrong.
Wow. What was happening?
I knew I should go home and just read books or watch a movie or listen to music or something and not think about all these dreams or incidents anymore. I would go insane.
So I started walking towards home when my eyes stopped at the tree where the boy from yesterday was there again.
I very much knew that I needed to go home immediately but however, my legs started to take me towards the boy and I had the sudden urge to talk to him.
As the boy noticed me walking towards him, his eyes started to widen like he was surprised or more like terrified and his mouth fell slightly open.
Was there something on my face? Damn. I touched my face in curiosity but didn't feel anything odd.
"Hi." I started the conversation.
The boy looked at me like I was some kind of an alien. I raised my eyebrows and gave him a blank expression.
"Hi me?" He pointed at himself as he asked that.
"Yeah, hi you."
"You can see me?" Did he think I was blind?
"Of course...I am not blind!" I was amused to hear his question.
"Really?"
"Really."
After I said that, the boy started taking few steps back and then looked up at the sky as he threw his arms open in the air and yelled, "Somebody can see me! She can see me! She can see me! Yes!"
What the hell was going on? I seriously needed to get back home. I didn't even know where these crazy people came from. They weren't there few days ago.
I quietly backed off from this guy and when I maintained enough distance, I started to run towards home.
I heared him telling me to wait in the distance but I didn't look back. I simply ran home and I knew that was the right thing to do at the moment.
