There was a door in his path, one that hadn’t been there before.
It was big, blocking off the entire hallway. It seemed to extend further than the ceiling, just based on it’s handle that was just out of reach.
It was made of a red coloured wood, covered in ornate carvings.
The main carving was that of a girl with closed eyes, clutching a bouquet of roses. Large wings spread from her back to touch the sides of the door. She was surrounded by a range of animals ripped straight from fantasy books.
Below the door handle was an elaborate spider, carved to be about the size of Liam’s hand.
“What?” he asked aloud but there was no one to answer his questions.
Or so he thought.
The girl’s eyes slowly opened, revealing that they were made of some sort of crystal instead of wood.
The door handle began to creep down until it was more akin to a normal door.
“This makes no sense.”
The door handle began to turn on its own, the door opening with a creak.
