“Hello?” Liam asked, trying to get the girl’s attention.
She didn’t respond, still focused on something he couldn’t see.
He walked towards her, ignoring how all the animals stopped what they were doing to watch him.
“Excuse me?”
He reached out a hand to place on her shoulder, surprised when she spun around to face him.
She looked like Rinth – or at least what he though Rinth looked like, the lighting had always made it hard to tell in the Tinkerer’s house and the maze.
Short brown hair, stopping at her shoulders with a slight curl. Large copper eyes, almost too large for her face. She blinked and her eyes changed colour, becoming the same blue as the sky.
“--- --- --- --- ---?”
“I don’t understand, sorry.”
Another blink and her eyes now matched the grass. Her wings fluttered nervously on her back, the wind picking up a few loose feathers and sending them flying.
“--- --- --- ---.”
She stood, an odd look on her face.
“Go back.” she said, the words seeming heavy for her tongue. “Go back.”
The animals all seemed to creep closer and he followed the order, leaving back through the door.
It vanished behind him, with no sign it was there in the first place - except for the feather still in his hand.
