Frieda welcomed her family into her home, waiting near the door as she kept watch for the guardian.
“Are we expecting a guest?” Daylan asked, curious. They didn’t often invite others over for their celebrations.
“Yes. The guardian is coming today.” Bes answered for her.
“The guardian is coming today.” Caw repeated. “Are you nuts? Since when does the druid leave her forests.”
“She will today.” Frieda said, unmoving from her position. “She said that she would come.”
The family let out a sigh in unison.
“Do we at least have a name to use for the guardian?” Thalia asked. “I doubt this will seem very hospitable if all we address her as is guardian or druid.”
“I’ve found no mention of it anywhere.” Bliss said softly. “Ever since the change, we’ve known the name of Aiyanna of Four but not the druid’s. I don’t think she finds it important, considering how often she corrected us for still calling it Elswyth Woods.”
“I believe, you could just call me Alvar.” The voice of the guardian caused them all to jump.
Instead of entering through the front, she stood at the backdoor.
