CHAPTER 2: INDIRA
From 20 October, 2090

It had been always hard for her to live in a society where majority people had been  following different religion on their serious form. The only thing that had made her go through life was that her mother had been a rich person and her father had never been there to begin with for making her obey some crazy stuffs. Whatever friends she had had, never invited her to any of their occasions or parties. Although she had found herself in the company with the biggest library of the country in her own house. “What else I can do?”- she sometimes had asked that to her own rich and thinking mind. People with same interest always had come together in those days and generation, but with her it had never happened. Sometimes she had wondered, “May be I am born too late because nobody reads books these days.” . It had been impossible to her in a way to like movie-universes or inter-connected series that lasts more than 30 seasons in total on web. But she had considered herself with her own great imagination, where she had been every character in any story. And all  of that changed when her mother died on 15th October with 3 billions of people on earth. That became a dark turn for her and might be for everybody. It wasn’t like nothing happened to her. She was greatly injured and luckily taken to the mobile hospital by her caretaker to be treated.

Days were changed after that. Half of her big house was getting repaired and her uncle from her mother’s side was there to help. Indira couldn’t even cry any more and her mind was close to completely broken. It was like she could no longer stay on one lace. In those earlier days she had used to read and read and had been very unique to speed reading. It had taken her 5 hours to read a 300 pages of a book and she could have done it in one sitting. Then it became the time where she could no longer fantasize herself any other character than herself.

Everything was hers but she had no real family to share it with. Hence, she was outside wondering here and there, thinking she could no longer become her old self. She was looking at various flowers in her property garden , mostly roses with different colors. She thought, “ Roses can be pink and white as well as red.” It seemed everything was troubling her mind. “ Can I be of various colors like this roses, sometimes pink. Sometimes white and sometimes red?” She then realized she was missing her mother too much. Her was a great writer, she left everything for her and yet she couldn’t feel the ownership of what she was seeing. “ What is the matter with me? People kill other people for only 100 credit this days and I don’t have any interest towards any of my mother’s property, what is now mine anyway. May be it is because I have everything.”- She added to her thinking, “ I should just run away from all of this, that way I may find what is left of my life, consequently I may find what is really important to me because now I don’t see any reason to live for. If similar people meet with each other in this universe, there was no one as similar as me. Because I haven’t met with anyone who is nearly close to my character.”

She sat on the verge of the pond under the shadow of a mango tree and resumed her thinking, “How beautiful everything is! People also kill for this beauty, people want to have this beauty all by themselves, everybody has problems, everyone is sick. I can not live in my house anymore, it feels empty, it is like I can not breathe in there, may be there is too much carbon-Dy-oxide. “ She felt like she had to get out of here, so she stood up and went to the main gate. The gatekeeper wasn’t there, she wondered what happened to him but didn’t put much of her mind to it. She crossed the gate and came outside, the true outside where there was no one to hold her back. Then she was walking into the light forest beside the street to be lost, “ I will find my true character.”- she assured herself.

There was feeling darkness ahead of her, all of a sudden she was afraid, it was like she couldn’t walk anymore. “What if I get my period, what will I do then?”-she thought, “What if some weirdo gets me?” at this point she remembered reading about those weirdos, “Most of all what if I get hungry or I have to take a shit?”
The sun was about to set, she was confused and highly emotional. “Should I go back? It is not like I have any outside skills or a friend to share my wild life with.”

She stopped in front of a cave like place, there was someone in there. She had to ask, “ Who are you and what are you doing here?” The shape of that someone was a boy, got cleared to her when he came outside. He was thin with no fat, like he was suffering from hunger for many days and there was only one clothe to hold his shame. Indira thought immediately, “ May be I should run, this boy can be dangerous for me… may be I should return to the house.”

“I don’t know who I am or how I got here, do you know who I am?”- the boy spoke. Indira was feeling stupid for some reason and lost in thinking, “ may be I have all the wrong conclusions, I should learn to believe in myself and other people.” She replied, “No, I don’t know who you are.” Also added, “Do you have memory loss or something? Don’t you have any family?”
“ I don’t know, I really don’t know anything”- the boy showed his lack of memory and sat on the ground like he couldn’t move because of hunger and vitamins. It was about to be a night full of darkness as the sun had sat. Indira couldn’t stable her mind, “ If I want to stay here I would be needing fire, the best possible thing to do is to return.”
“ Do you want to come with me?” Indira asked the boy. The boy replied with excitement, “OK.”

Why she had returned, she couldn’t come to an understanding, might be it had been because her mind was conflicted, or might be she had seen what hunger had done to that boy. Whatever it had been, she had returned with that boy, “ Does he have some kind of power over me?”- She had thought deeply. She couldn’t understand why she had started to care about  him the moment she had seen him. Might be it had been because he had done what she had told him to do. She had told him to come along with her and he had done it, She had told him to take a bath and he had done it too, further she had told him to hide behind the library bookshelf which had been a very narrow place by the way, and he had done that too. “It is like I can play with him all i want, Such a great plaything he is.”- she sneered.
“ Where were you?” She looked behind after hearing her uncle’s voice. “Just went for wondering, why? Did you need me for something?” She replied with calmness.
“You look good, did something happen?” Her uncle asked politely.
“Oh no, it was just the fresh air and good weather and everything…”- then she smiled.
“OK, will you eat dinner with me in the dining room or in your room?” he asked and eagerly waited for her answer.
With some moment of silence she answered very quickly, “In my room.”
“OK then, I will sent your dinner to your room.” Indira was about to leave when he further said, “If you need something else, you can always tell me.”
“Yeah, I know.”- She added and left the place very awkwardly.

After eating dinner with the boy, she took a photo of him to find out who he was through an app called face finder with her mostly unused gadget glass. When the result was found she uttered the words, “So your name is Ashique. Nice to meet you Ashique, my name is Indira.”
Ashique said, “Hi” to her.

On the next days Indira was always with Ashique in the library next to her room. She always locked the door so that no one can find anything about them. The bond that was created between them became very unique and unusual. They couldn’t both get enough of each other, like when they talked they talked like six hours straight with some knowledges that that both of them didn’t know they had. Indira one time introduced a theory that during the earthquake Ashique must had hit by something on his head and thats why he might had lost his memory. But it hadn’t explained how had he become so thin in six days and why there had been no scars on his head.
Then they started play games here and there together, they began reading comics, mangas and books together, they even started watching movies and series together. Whenever anybody came, Indira kept Ashique hidden. It was not so long when they started to sleep together, holding each other in their own arms with their ultimate purity. Such thinking came into Indira's mind, “ What if I am 16 and Ashique is 23, we are soul-mates, we are one and truly equal to each other.” It was like they were brainwashed by each other by only each other’s presence, if not Ashique, there was no doubt about Indira.

On the day of November 27, 2090, after the announcement of the supreme-leader, people were in panic in many countries. Many of them started to flee from their countries as soon as possible because the age of impossibility had come to haunt them in a new way.The announcement went this way-
“ Our Earth economy and the formation of many society has fallen. The earthquake has took 3 billions of people from us and still counting worldwide. This was something we never faced before. The cause of this earthquake is still unknown. (At this point he looked more serious) What I am going to tell you… you should listen very carefully. We are not going to get anymore outside help because of our lack of productivity, high population and basically its solely our internal matter. So, we are going to face our greatest cataclysm yet. More than half of what we have left are going to die because of the lack of natural resource, food and drinking water. We have to eat each other in next few months, which many in different countries has already started. Our sufferings has only started and it is going to get very very bad. To minimize our suffering we have only one solution and that is the absence of part of our population. We all does not need to suffer only part of us.
Those countries who have suffered the most, have more depressed and broken people. They will suffer anyway and make us question our humanity. So, the decision is to kill off the mostly suffered country peoples so that our humanity can survive. I ask for all of your help, give them the mercy they deserve. For humanity part of us need to be amputated.”

The army of the supreme-leader came along with the volunteers who were the citizens from other countries. They didn’t saw difference between the children or the old, the weak or the strong, They started killing everyone equally. However they know they have to do it to protect their children and humanity. The refuges were gathered together, they shoot at them; People in rallies were attacked by putting several bulldozers over them. Many from the broken people committed mass suicide like always, might be to prove they were cowards or they didn’t wanted to be killed brutally. Those who tried to defend, couldn’t do anything about it because it happened very quickly or they were low in numbers and didn’t have any tech—advanced arms. The armies were like piranhas, they came and when they left there was only flesh and blood.

It was not so long when one army broke into Indira’s house. First, they shoot Indira’s Uncle and then all the workers. No one could hide because of the modern tech. Next, they broke into the library, inside Ashique and Indira was holding each other with fear. Then the army shoot at them mercilessly until they fell on the ground.
“I’m glad that I met you.”- Indira tried to say to Ashique until she was no more.
Someone from the army came to check their pulse. Ashique was listening to him partly, the man was assuring of him being alive. They shoot at him again and again and again.
Like a lightning he remembered and muttered, “I can’t die.”
“Can I bring back Indira?”- he further asked and ordered to anyone who was listening. The visions then followed him where Indira’s pattern of existence faded away.
