Around an hour later Lupin decided it was late and that they should go back to their dorms.
“This was really fun,” Lupin remarked, “tomorrow is a weekend so why don’t we do an outing to the village near here?”
Cohen thought for a bit before replying. He wasn’t the type of person who enjoyed hanging out with the same person exclusively. Plus he had already made plans to go with Nairna and Aster and see the faire in town. They had been waiting for the faire for ages and were looking forward to it.
“I’m really sorry but um…” They hesitated a bit. “I already have plans. I’m doing something with my friends.”
“Oh. well if it isn’t too much of a hassle, would you mind inviting me?” Lupin was persistent, he really wanted to spend more time with Cohen and get to know them.
“I would re-really like to spend t-tomorrow with my friends, maybe Monday we could do something after sci-lat-no-chemistry?”
Cohen was starting to shake out of fear and the cold, meaning that their words were getting mixed up in their head and they really just wanted to go to bed. It was getting very dark as well, meaning that Lupin’s facial expressions were really hard to read.
“I think that that would be lovely. Have fun tomorrow.” Lupin replied with a bit of an edge to his warmth.
The two parted ways, Lupin going to the East-wing dormitory and Cohen to the West. Climbing the stairs to his dormitory, Cohen thought about his walk with Lupin. In their mind, the walk went really well. Well maybe not that last part.
“That was a bit odd, but it’s not going to mean much.” Was their last thought before drifting off to sleep and waking up in an enormous library that seemed to never end.
