The husks that charged bounced off the glyphs and banged on it. Persei felt lighter when he summoned multiple glyphs. He adjusted the arrows of the glyph and once he did that, the husks were sent flying backwards away from them. Myun opened his eyes in wonder and shock as he adjusted his glasses. Myun opened his eyes in wonder and shock as he adjusted his glasses.
“Fascinating! Seems like you’ve already got the hang of it, Persei!”
“Thanks, Myun. It was harder to summon a single glyph but it feels lighter now…” Persei held his tesseract and wiped the snot off his face. “Thank you again, Myun. I couldn’t have figured this out without you.”
“I-It’s nothing, really! Haha-” Yoven stepped in between them and said, “We can save the thanks for later, let’s get to Bjorn Village!” Before they could run, they were cut off by the coughs of Hyacinth who began to stand.
“We can’t yet! There’s still sorcerers at the path! Not to mention Miss Proxima.” Persei looked down in embarrassment seeing Hyacinth. He felt so ashamed of himself. Seeing the husks kill the kroma sorcerers forever traumatized him but at the same time it opened his eyes. He realized the true threat the husks and the kromagoths can be. Persei stepped forward to Hyacinth.
She raised her eyebrow and said, “What do you want?”
“I want to help the kroma sorcerers and Miss Proxima!” Persei yelled at her. “Not for mom, she doesn’t have anything to do with this anymore. I want to do this for myself. To see the people safe and sound.” Hyacinth was taken aback by Persei’s conviction and then chuckled.
“Took you long enough, you dumbass.”
She said with a smile. After that she walked over to the direction where she fell and checked the ground. Hyacinth searched the ground and found her tesseract on the ground. She swatted the dirt off it and held it firmly.
“Alright. We need to think of a way to get all the kroma sorcerers safe and sound to Bjorn Village so that Miss Proxima can beat the kromagoths!”
Yoven interrupted her. “Wait, why does she need all the sorcerers back to Bjorn Village to beat the guy?” Hyacinth smacked Yoven’s head lightly “Dummy. She needs everyone to be safe so that she won’t hurt them when she lets out a powerful blast using red kroma.”
Myun placed a finger underneath his chin. Persei noticed and looked at him eagerly. “Thinking of something, Myun?” “Huh wha- why?”
“It’s just that you came up with the idea of the multiple glyphs my tesseract can summon so you could probably come up with a solution to this problem.”
Myun quivered and said “Haha thanks...but this problem has way more factors to consider and too many uncertainties…”
“Like what?” Yoven asked.
Myun’s gears in his head began to turn. “Hmm… for one, the husks. Secondly are the kromagoths, we don’t know exactly how many there are. And finally, is the distance between them and the southern entrance.”
Hyacinth looked up and started to think as well. “You’re right...going back up there and running back down is too slow and we could get hurt by the husks...hm…”
Persei looked down at his tesseract and wondered if he could manipulate the placement of the glyphs. He held his tesseract and let out all 20 small glyphs.
“What are you doing, Persei?” Yoven asked.
“I think I have an idea...If I can just…” Persei concentrated on the glyphs to make them lay flat next to each other. The glyphs slowly traveled and laid flat next to each other on top of Persei’s hand.
“Aha! We can make a path of my glyphs! I can adjust the arrows of the glyphs to point to the southern entrance! It’ll push them ahead and down directly to the entrance!”
Myun let out a grin but saw Hyacinth sway her head side to side. Hyacinth placed her hand on the glyphs. “Even if your glyphs can bring them all to the village, you can’t summon enough glyphs, and we don’t have enough light for that.”
The woman at the back of Yoven coughed and groggily whispered. “My…” Hyacinth noticed her and got close to her mouth. “What, Miss Dizonia? What is it”
Dizonia spoke once more, losing her voice, using all her might.
“My tesseract.” She said.
Hyacinth raised her eyebrow. “Wait, why do we have to use your tesseract?” A light bulb dinged in Myun’s head and he said in excitement, “Hyacinth! What happens when you lay over two glyphs of the same colored kroma?!?”
Hyacinth hit her head and smiled. “Duh! I’m so dumb! It amplifies the glyph!” Persei raised his voice, “Which means I could summon more glyphs!”
“Now all we need is Miss Dizonia’s tesseract.” Yoven said as he laid the woman down on the ground. He tapped her neck but couldn't feel anything. Dizonia whispered into Yoven’s ear once more.
“Taken- Kromagoths-”
“Guys! The kromagoths have taken Miss Dizonia’s tesseract!” Yoven yelled. “Dammit.” Hyacinth said as she swatted her head away. She immediately remembered the other hooded figure that was holding a sack.
“I know who has it! One of the kromagoths I fought with had it, we need to go back to the top of the mountain.”
“Ugh, I don’t wanna go back up the mountain…” Persei said. Myun placed a hand on Persei’s shoulder. “I think it would be best if you summoned the path of glyphs from the top of the mountain since you can have a clear view of the entire mountain unlike down here. But that poses another problem...We don’t have enough light at the top of the mountain for that…”
Yoven gave them all a smirk. “I think I’ve still got some fire left in me.” He said with a determined smile.
Myun raised his hand slowly and asked with a pouty face “What can I do?” Persei quickly stood in front of him and placed both hands on his shoulders.
“Myun, we’ll need you to bring Miss Dizonia back to Bjorn Village and guid everyone that makes it down the path of glyphs...can you do that for me?”
“Y-yes! I can do that for- for you.” Myun said with a shaky smile. Hyacinth looked at Persei as he nodded at Yoven. Damn he really has changed… Hyacinth let out another chuckle and stood up.
“I guess we have a plan! Let’s get moving!”
Everyone said in unison, “Right!”
Myun began to carry Dizonia and started running to the village. He was approached by some husks but Hyacinth quickly summoned her glyph and red spikes. He continued running and eventually reached the entrance of Bjorn Village and let the guards carry Miss Dizonia.
Myun watched as the three of them ran back up the mountain. He felt butterflies in his stomach from Persei and at the same time was worried. He interlocked his hands together and looked up at the mountain. He saw small blasts of red and black which made him nervous.
“Be careful guys.” He whispered.
Proxima slowed down from parrying the attacks of the Lich King and the hooded figure while at the same time trying to stab any husk that managed to get close to the flaming wall surrounding the powerless kroma sorcerers. She jumped backwards and twirled her spear and summoned her glyph in front of her which summoned a red blast of energy. The Lich King and the hooded figure with the sack dodged her blast.
“Dammit...I shouldn’t have used that. That took a lot of energy…” Proxima said before she felt a jab to her back. She fell forward and tried to get back up. She was stopped by a blue glyph that prevented her from standing. The female hooded figure held onto the blue tesseract of Dizonia with a smirk. “Hey! That’s Dizonia’s!” Riche giggled. “It’s mine now, dear. Now be good and give us your tesseract.” Proxima could feel the woman press down her foot harder.
Instantly, a piece of purple glass flew inches away from Riche’s face which caused her to move back and fall on her butt. The kromagoths looked in the direction where the purple glass came from and saw Hyacinth and Persei. In Front of them stood a large red glyph underneath a collage of small blue glyphs. Once more, red glass formed from the red glyph and was propelled forward by the blue glyph, causing it to turn purple. The three kromagoths dodged the halestorm of glass and charged at them.
“Persei! Get ready!”
“Alright!”
Persei switched his focus to the hooded figure with the sack. Hyacinth slammed her hand on the ground and summoned a glyph. The glyph produced a wall of red glass. Persei summoned glyphs under him and Hyacinth which caused them to be propelled over the wall of red glass. Once they were over the wall, he locked his eyes on the man holding the sack. He summoned three glyphs with the arrows pointing up under the sack, causing it to be propelled upwards to the trees.
Yoven , who had been sitting at the trees, grabbed the sack and flipped it to make all the tesseracts fall down. Hyacinth smiled and shouted “Quick! Find the blue one!” Persei and Yoven scanned the ground. They could hear the laughter of a woman behind them as they searched. All of them looked at the direction of the laughter and saw the hooded woman hold up a blue tesseract between her finger tips.
“Oh...you mean this?”
Persei’s eyes widened. “No…the plan was flawless until now...” He muttered. Yoven jumped down beside Persei and Hyacinth. “What are we gonna do now?!?” “I don’t know Yoven…” Hyacinth whispered. The woman smirked and said loudly, “Did you really think you can just take-” she was cut off by the feeling of a rock being thrown at her hand, causing her to drop the blue tesseract. She looked back as she grabbed her hand and saw Proxima with a smile.
“GO!” She yelled. Hyacinth ran down low and grabbed the tesseract before summoning a red glyph underneath her. A giant red wall rose between them and the kromagoths. Proxima got up and kicked the hooded man in the leg. He dropped the orange tesseracts from his hand, which lowered the fire wall surrounding the helpless kroma sorcerers.
“Hurry!” Hyacinth yelled at Persei looking back at the wall of glass, seeing the Lich King stare directly at him through it.
Persei turned around and ran along with Hyacinth and Yoven further up the mountain.
The mountain got steeper and steeper as the trio ran up the mountain, causing them to slow down for a bit. Persei began to feel the exhaustion in his legs and began to walk.
“Oi! Persei! We’re almost there!” Hyacinth yelled.
“Ugh, fine!” Persei said with gritted teeth as he struggled to push himself even further. He felt Yoven’s hands against his back as he too struggled walking up the mountain.
Eventually, they reached the highest point they could walk to on the mountain. They all huffed and puffed due to the exhaustion from running. Persei took a quick glance down the mountain as he wiped off some sweat. He saw Proxima fighting against the kromagoths and the husks that were trying to get to the kroma sorcerers. Persei felt determined to save the kroma sorcerers from the grip of the husks and the kromagoths. He looked down even further and saw the southern entrance of Bjorn Village. It was dark in the forest, but the light emanating from Bjorn Village strengthened Persei’s conviction. He looked back to Yoven and Hyacinth who were starting to get their bearings.
“Let’s do it.” Persei said. Hyacinth nodded and took out the blue tesseract of Dizonia Nexus. “Okay so...I think we first need a huge source of light. Yoven, you ready?” Yoven stretched his arms out. “Okay, let’s do this.”
Yoven grabbed his orange tesseract and summoned a giant orange glyph behind them. He took another deep breath and took as much air as he could. He then exhaled and screamed with all his might.
“IGNITE!”
