Chapter 2
The library was huge. Ancient books lined the walls and were stacked in piles on the floor and tables. Walking in any direction was difficult, as there were papers and books strewn across the cherry wood floor, as if everyone had left in a hurry and never came back. Walking carefully over the mess on the floor, Cohen hears the song that led them to the sword. But the song has changed, it is no longer just little chimes and a bit of violin here and there. The sound of harps, a piano, flutes, and much more flowed throughout the library, along with something else. Was it singing? If it was singing, it wasn’t in a language that Cohen had ever heard. They decided to follow this sound through the seemingly endless halls of the library, looking around for any sign of life or a way out. Neither appeared, and Cohen kept walking. He walked past a bookshelf and noticed something strange- all the books had names on them. Names of people he knew. They blinked. This isn’t happening. Then they looked back. The names were gone, replaced with stories of reincarnation, urban legends, and ghost stories. Odd. They continued walking, passing study rooms, bookshelves, and a skeleton or two. Wait, that’s not right.
[here is where you stop reading if skeletons or descriptions of gore/death make you squeamish]
Peeking out from behind a particularly tall stack of books Cohen saw two mostly complete skeletons sitting slumped on armchairs. Neither of them had their skulls, and there were giant chunks missing from their ribs in the chest area, as if something had ripped their hearts out. One of the skeletons was also missing their kneecaps and because of this the bones from their lower legs were strewn around at the base of the chair. Cohen noticed that the other skeleton had a few holes in it. Probably bullet wounds. Slightly unnerved, Cohen got up and continued following the song that had brought them here in the first place.
now a meme so that the gory part isn't in view when reading the description
