I had a dream once.
A dream so massive that it would have enveloped you whole
if one was not weary of its expanse.
It was beautiful, so alluring in design that even the most vapid would be attracted to its unrelenting glories.
So pure, so right.
All who viewed its divinity agreed that it would be so rich and confounding in nature,
That when applied to reality, it would be one of the species greatest creations.
I had a dream once.
Struck down by the great title wave of reality,
then burned to ash out of fear.
Perhaps my dream was just a fantasy,
designed to keep our heads above water
Just long enough
to numb the pain.
