The Disciplinary Comittee's Black Sheep

How to Fight (Part 2)

How to Fight (Part 2)

Aug 28, 2021

"Start!" As she said it, both of us jumped back to take distance between us. Seeing the beam he shooted before I could said he just get in the class to show off his abilities, because he was a caster-type migician, not a fighter, but he didn't seem worried about it. I just took the distance because of that, my magic requiered being near of him to strike him. The pricipal way to do it was using magic to imrpove your fisical habilities, this was not binded to any element, just for being capable of doing it you were considered a low tier Exo, the was the affinity towards any element and your control of it. If you had this three requirements you could call yourself a complete Exo.

Being a Caster means that your attacks are extremely powerful, but your use of this magic was very exhausting, that's why they were a joker in a battle, cause they could change the flow of a combat in seconds. And if he had the control of the magic to be in this class, maybe and just maybe he was strong enough to play both roles. He was the first one to attack, the same beam that he used before was being constantly shooted at me, but now instead of one I had to dodge five beams.

I didn't want to show my magic just like this, but if kept dodging it was possible that I would get tired before he runned out of magic, so I had to create an opportunity to approach him. Before I could think in something he stopped the shots and came to me, he's body was glowing in what I supposed was light, every step he did the ground crushed creating holes under his feet.

"Are you scared of this?" He said, "I'm more worried about the ants that you are killing," my joke apparently had the effect I expected cause he snapped his tongue in disgust. He came as near as possible and threw a kick to my head that I dodged easily. But before I could do anything he use his open palm to expell a light explosion that send me a few meters back. "That's everything you have, black sheep? If you don't use your magic I'm gonna kill you, or maybe is that you can't do anything?" He was laughing at the same time, and he was right, if I didn't attack I would end up dead, or at least very injured, and he didn't care about breaking the rules saying that he didin't know I was that weak.

This was a waste of time, I kept dodging his dirty attacks and creating distance between us, everytime the distance was enough to let me breath he used his beams to make me run into him and recieve his strikes or light palm. But I was starting to get used to it, was in that moment when he prepared his light palm when I used the magic that I created during the tests, "Dark Shards".

Three black splinters appeared in front of his open hand and flew meeting the tip of one of his fingers and arm, he cried in pain and stopped the attack. "What the hell did you did to me?" I didn't answer expecting him to surrender, instead of it he glowed again and the bleeding stopped.

The light magic was not only one of the most powerful during a batlle, but also was when for healing magic came to. There was three types of healing maigc, the classic one that was not part of any element and just a few group of people had access to, this kind of exos needed a party that could manage to protect them because they were useless in a fight. The light healing magic that was more powerful than the classic one, the big problem with this is that there were even less magicians that could use this kind of magic, because they prefer to learn destructive spells than healing ones. And the elemental healing, which was by far the weakest of all. This magic used the elemental affinity of the caster to heal partial wounds that were not to deep or big. This was the best magic to learn when a long fight came because you could heal yourself during a fight, but just if the wound were superficial wounds, if not it was completely useless, and also it used a lot of magic to be performed making easier to have a healer on the team than using this.

But this guy was not only a light user that could use the magic as a caster and as fighter, but also as a healer in himself and possibly in other people too. He was the perfect definition of talent, he was a prodigy in all the mean of the word. "You need to try harder if you want to do something with that magic," he declared while preparing a different spell. This one made the sky turning brighter, and as soon as I think of what was he doing it was already to late.

A storm of light beams rained down on me like water drops in a rainful day, but whenever each of it reached the floor, a big explosion came after, so if I was even reched for just one of it I would die. How the hell was he capable of it, how many magic power has him. I had no option than using one of my spells, shadow movemente, allowing me to walk between shadows like if it were portals, appearing far enough from the chaos I took a seconds to breathe and see what was happening in the place I was moments before. The place was devastated, and for where I was, specially there the hole was bigger, I considered going back to my room but it would draw a lot of attention to me if they thought I was dead, so it was not an option.

The other thing I could do was using more magic, usign shadow step (as I called it) I could manage to approach hi without him notticing my pressence until the very last moment, so I did as planned and start running into him. Johan was laughing from his position where the smoke hadn't disipated already, when it did he stared at the zone for moments until he saw what he wantes, I was dead, or at leas that was what I let him think.

Using shadow step I moved to the nearest tree from him, and then I continued moving to his back. My spell didn't make me invisible, no, it made me disappear from not only his sight, but of all of his senses, for him I wasn't there, but if he could focus the necessary he could notice me if he see me directly, but if not, it should be impossible.

"How am I going to explain this?" He told while laughing, but before letting the professor taking off the barrier I removed my spell and threw a strike to his cheeck, he recieved with his arm showing he just reacted at time by a little. "I am really surprised it didn't kill you, but if you think that's everything I have you couldn't be more wrong." his golden eyes letting spill out his killing intent towards me started glowing, the pressure of the air became stronger and each step he made end in a hole bigger than before. "Just in case think I can't move fast while fighting let me show you how fast I really am," and as said he throe me a punch that I dodged by a little. "Not bad," he said. I kicked aiming to his stomach but he moved to he side and did the same to my head, but before he could hit it I put my arm in between. The strike was not a normal one because I could feel my bone breaking at the moment that it hitted me, so I jumped back to dodge the punch he threw at my face moments later. If I couldn't block them then I'll just have to go through him.

It was not time to keep playing with him. Every attack he made I dodged carefully trying to win distance between us, he started to run out of patience as I dodged his attacks and threw mines. It was time to end the fight, he threw a low kick but I jumped at the same time and landed on my left foot and kicking him on the face, using the rotation of my own body I kept the push of the kick until the only thing that was between my foot and the floor was his head, he was unconscious. The fight had come to an end.

Teacher Linda take off the barrier and run into us to see if Johan was alive, and as expected he was. "How did you do that?" She asked, I just shrunked my arms and walked away, I know what she was talking about, but it was better to just play dumb.
