“Ah, there you are, Mr. Shimada. I was looking for you.” Said a soft voice with a swiss accent.
Hanzo glanced over to where it was coming from. Standing to the side of their table was a slim blonde woman wearing a doctor’s coat. Though he was curious which Shimada she was speaking to at first, her gentle smile directed at him answered that question.
“Let me introduce myself. I’m Dr. Angela Ziegler.” The woman said, offering to shake hands. “I’m the resident doctor. Would you prefer, Mr. Shimada or Hanzo?”
“Pleasure to meet you and Hanzo is fine.” Hanzo said, bowing his head quickly but shaking her hand after. So this was the one that Genji had talked about before. “Though what do you need of me?”
“I needed to schedule a medical exam with you, as I do with all members.” Angela said, scrolling through something on her tablet. “I’d like you in my office first thing tomorrow before breakfast, about eight a.m. .”
Hanzo nodded but said nothing in return.
“And Genji, I need to make a diagnostics update on your systems so you need to come by as well, when you can.”
“Is after dinner alright?”
“Yes.” Angela said, making another note on her tablet. “Well, I need to get back to work. Hanzo, have a wonderful evening and see you in my office first thing in the morning. I have sent a reminder notice to your PC. Though I hope we can talk less formally later on. Also know that if you have any health concerns contact me or Baptiste.”
“Of course.”
“Before you go, want a cup of tea to take with you?” Genji asked.
“I could use one, if it’s not too much trouble.” Angela replied, rubbing her neck. The circles under her eyes showed slightly under the rim of her glasses.
Genji went to grab the extra mug and poured her a glass. “Nah, we made enough water, and this stuff is a special blend from our aunt. You need to try it.”
“Thank you.” Angela said, giving a tired smile and relishing in the warmth.
“Oh Angela, dinner is almost ready. Want me to bring yours by the office?” Baptiste said across the room.
“Yes, please.”
Baptiste did a thumbs up and wink in response.
“No rest for the weary, as they say. I’ll be off now.” Angela said, waving goodbye.
Just as Angela was about to walk through the door, a glimpse of a familiar, tall redhead popped up in the doorway's corner.
“Excuse me, Angela. I should have watched where I was going.”
“No harm Brigitte. Have a good evening.”
“You too.” Brigitte entered, saluting towards the way the doctor went off.
Hanzo took a moment to just look at her. Brigitte had changed into a new black tank top that said ‘I like exercise because I love eating’ written across it. Jean shorts hugged her well-built thighs. Her red hair pulled into a loose braid that curled from just being washed and dried. She smiled and waved in the table's direction where he and Genji were at. He must have given some sort of response because she acted casual.
“Whatcha making, Bap? It smells amazing.” Brigitte said, putting her arm over his shoulder.
“Kribich nan sòs, one of my favorite meals from back home.” Baptiste grinned up at her, offering a small little spoonful. “Try a taste.”
Brigitte leaned over and slowly tasted the spoonful, letting out a small moan. “Hmmm. Could I have the recipe for this? Also need me to help with anything?”
“Of course, I’ll email you it later and could you get a few bowls out so I can serve?”
“No problem.” Brigitte reached up to the top shelf with ease.
Meanwhile, a metal hand waved in front of Hanzo’s face, causing him to blink and glance at Genji. “What?”
“You were staring again, and you gulped too.”
Hanzo mumbled something under his breath, hiding behind his mug.
Genji raised an eyebrow. It was weird seeing his brother like this, since Hanzo was usually a stick in the mud concerning anything of this sort. Then again, considering their family life, Genji didn’t blame him. He also knew that Hanzo probably would not let himself go further, not without a proper push.
“Dinner is served!” Brigitte said, placing two bowls with spoons in front of them.
“Thank you.” Hanzo pulled the bowl closer.
“Thanks Brig. Want to join us and also have some tea?” Genji smiled.
“Sure! Just let me grab my food.” Brigitte replied, quickly grabbing another bowlful for herself as well as a white cat mug. She sat in the space next to Hanzo. “You sure I’m not butting into some family time?”
“Not from my side. What about you, bro?” Genji said, pouring tea into Brigitte’s mug.
“It’s fine.” Hanzo said as well, glancing over at her briefly.
“If you are sure.” Brigitte giggled and took a big bite of her meal. “Mmm, this is so good, you guys gotta try it.”
Genji swore he saw a slight uplift in the corner of Hanzo’s mouth, like he smiled.
