After a long silence of the winter season, the chirping of the birds, buzzing of the bees in the early mornings and moonlight in the night becomes very calm and soothing. It is a great pleasure to watch the beautiful butterflies hopping from one flower to another in the gardens. The sky looks clear and wind becomes cool and refreshing making everything around so serene around the college. Yes, it's a spring.
Someone said ''Spring brings joy and happiness in every one's heart, as it is the season of festivals and weddings. It refers to love, hope, youth and growth''
But the start of spring day is a shitty day for me.

When we have done our lessons in class, there is this familiar face waiting at the entrance of my class looking for me. The bronze hair floats in the breeze, the porcelain face, the pointy nose, and the not-too-bulky muscular body we saw in the comic book male lead. Yes, it was my first love '' Liam Court. ''
"Hey, Lia" he called out my name and waving his hand at me.
Ah, really
I want to run away but I can't now, He called me by my name in front of people.
Well, I am totally screwed. It was so damn awkward.
'' Oh hey, Liam I haven't seen you in a while. How have you been? '' I said with a goofy smile.
"Lia," he called and took my hand.
''We need to talk about something. Please can you give me a moment?'' he said with his puppy eyes on me.
''Ok''
Then we got out and he took my hand off.
'' Lia,'' he said with his eyes worried.
''I don't know how things start go wrong but why are you avoiding me? You and I are friends and I don't mind your confession. I just want you to know that I still want you to be my friend and I don't want you to avoid me.''
''I'm not saying I don't want to be friends with you Liam. I just still need some time to reconsider my feelings. Well it's good that you still consider me a friend after everything that has happened''
.....
''Haha, damn. It's so embarrassing,'' I said with an awkward smile.
''I'm so sorry, Lia''
''No no, You have nothing wrong. That was me. I need time to think and I was very busy these days, you know, part time jobs.''
''Do you still need more time?''
''Yes, sorry.''
''Ok. When you are done with your thoughts, I wish we could go back to the old days as friends.''
''Don't worry, haha. Anyway I have the next class left I have to go now next time Liam'' I said looking up into his blue eyes and rushed because I had the next class. Well, having the next class is just my shit excuse. Well, I have my part-time job as a bar waitress, but in no rush. When I turn to him I saw his tall figure staring at flowers in the garden. I'm sorry for him but I don't have the courage to face him yet.

Do you believe in fate?
Well. We, Burmese, believe in fate.
Four years ago, I was not in the United States. I was 16, had just graduated from high school in Myanmar, and worked as a receptionist in a hotel in Yangon. Yes, Liam and my first meeting was in Yangon, my homeland. At that time, Liam is an American high school student who had just visited Yangon with his friends and stayed at the hotel I was working at.
It was a rainy day when I first saw Liam. With his hair soaked in the pouring rain, he was like an actor in Hollywood movies because of his beautiful face but at the same time he was like a soaked puppy. That was my first expression of him. When I saw a foreigner walk through the hotel door without an umbrella in this heavy rain, then run to him with an umbrella fearing he might sick.
''Thank you,'' he said and he came alone and his friend will come the next day. he was shivered from the cold so I gave him lukewarm water and a towel. It was our first meeting. Liam is a kind and charming guy. He doesn't use bad words. He was a gentleman as in a romance novel. He always listened to what others said and meant and responded when needed. Since that day, we became closer and I found out that he was the same age as me. Then his friends arrived, they stayed 4 days in our hotel and then left. But me and Liam still in touch on twitter ever since.
I moved to the United States after three years. You might not believe fate but fate was so ridiculous. Me and Liam are at the same university but different majors. He remembered me first and yes we became friends in university. Even I, myself, can't believe it.
So basically, I have a crush on him for four years. Of course I was interested in him. Who wouldn't be interested in him? When he is so handsome.
We are at the same time the university and we have become closer than we were in Myanmar. In snowy December, I confessed my feelings to Liam.
Obviously, he rejected my feelings and said ''Sorry, Lia but I can't accept your feelings. If you confessed three months ago, I would accept you. Now I have a girlfriend. You know Eveline in the theater department, don't you? She is my girlfriend '' with immediate response.
It really breaks my heart. I want Liam but I can't compete with Eveline in the theater department because she is the college goddess unlike my gloomy appearance. So, I admit my defeat and avoided Liam for two months. This is how the story unfolds.

I had another fight with Jenny on top of this meeting with Liam is quite exhausted to me and then I go to work like I have a big stone on my back. Even, my colleague, Steven notices me.
'' What is going on Elena today? You are like a living dead. Did you fight with your boyfriend or something? ''
''Don't be kidding me, Steve. Today I'm so piss off, better watch with what you said! ''
''Easy, easy man'' Steve consoled me.
(Another staff)
''Hey, don't chat. Table number 18 needs a server, Can you go there? I have a handful of jobs on other tables.''
''Sure''
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At the table number 18, there is a man wearing sunglasses in this black bar with yellow and neon reflections waiting to be served. I was wondering how he saw in this darkness with his sunglasses on.
I asked him with a smile.
"Hello, I'm Elena. I'll be your server for tonight. Today the specials are on board and how can I help you? ''
''I would like to order Martini and a bottle of Máximo Extra Añejo, please.''
''Yes, would you like some ice with them?''
''Yes, please''
''Anything to order, sir?''
'' Your name is lovely, Elena Ko,'' he said and took off his sunglasses and look at me through his eyes.
''Can I have your phone number?''
At that point, I knew what he was going to say next. Well, it's always been like that. When I was working in a hotel in Yangon, a Spanish guy asked me and I was beautiful and you want to sleep with me? I was only 16 at the time and was naïve about it, so I pretended I hadn't heard anything and replied nonsense.
Then when I was in college in first year, I go out with the guy in class and it was just a first date, we went to the café and cinema and then he said he didn't want to not leaving by my side and now it was too late so how about to sleep in the hotel.
Next time when I first got the job at this bar there were a ton of guys asking me to sleep with them. There's a reason a stranger asked the waitress for a phone number like this. It was absolutely not love at first sight. It was just for one night. Ah, I'm so sick and tired of dealing with these bastards.
Today is your lucky day, dear customer. Today, I was so pissed off that I don't even want answering vague and indirectly. I will just get straight to this bastard.
''No thanks. I don't sleep with you''
