Leaving the room, we headed downstairs to join the other guests as the party was getting ready to start. Looking around, I scanned the crowd and immediately recognized the members of my pack including my mom. Opening our mind link, I said “wow, mom you look beautiful” which made her smile and look around until she found us. Coming over to join us, she said “wow, you all look amazing!”

“Thanks mom” I said as I pulled her into a hug followed by the others adding their thanks to her with smiles. Pulling back, she asked “so how have you all been?”

“We've been good Mrs. Richards” Liah said followed by Conner nodding in agreement. At that moment, I caught site of Carl and his goons in the crowd and my smile faltered slightly. Unfortunately, Conner noticed and nudged my side. Turning to look at him, I noticed the concerned look in his eyes and whispered “it's nothing. Just try to relax okay?” Just then I felt him stiffen and looked to where his eyes were locked. There stood a blonde man with an evil glint in his eyes staring right back at Conner. Reaching out, I took his hand causing him to jump slightly and look at me. Apparently, tonight was definitely going to be our night for demons. Looking at Liah, I managed to get her attention without saying a word and nodded in the direction of his parents. As sign to tell her something was wrong and we should get him to move towards them. Nodding, she grasped his other hand and started pulling us towards them. Mind linking mom, I said “sorry, we need to get Conner to his parents to calm him down.”

“It's alright sweetheart, take care of your friend” she said and gave me a sad but understanding smile. As we walked, I kept an eye on our surroundings and an even closer eye on Conner so I'd know if we needed to get him away from everyone. As we got closer to his mom, he turned and his gaze landed on Conner changing from one of mirth to worry before he managed to mask it. When we were standing in front of him, he reached out and wrapped Conner in a hug and asked “is everything okay sweetie?”

“Ummm. Yeah, thanks to Madox and Liah. If they hadn't pulled me away when they had I don't know what would've happened” Conner said sounding like he was about to cry again. Squeezing his hand a little, I made sure he knew we were still with him and that he was safe before Luna Kris whispered just loud enough for us to hear “they won't leave you so there's no need to fear sweetie.” Nodding our agreement to the Luna, neither of us let go of his hands to prove what Luna Kris had said was true. As I watched, a single tear slid down Conners' cheek and was quickly wiped away by his father who had been standing there wordlessly watching. Feeling eyes on me, I glanced over my shoulder to find that guy and Carl watching us eyeing our clasped hands. Tightening my grip, I turned back to meet the Alphas' eyes realizing he'd seen what I had as well. With a single nod, he turned and headed on stage to begin the ceremonies. Ushering us to one side, Luna Kris went up to join him just before Kyle and Nina exited the back door of the pack house making their way to the stage. During the ceremonies, I could still feel their eyes on us but I ignored them since Conner was my priority right then. After a few hours passed, the celebration was finally over. Heading up to Conners' room, the three of us locked ourselves in the room and got ready for bed but this time all three of us shared the king sized bed with him securely in the middle.

When I woke the next morning, I was laying on a rather hard pillow. Opening my eyes, I realized I must be laying on Madox chest which made me smile as he was still sound asleep. Shifting to look at him, I heard Liah make a choked giggling sound as she rounded the end of the bed to stare at me. Opening our link, I asked “what are you staring at? You know I love him but I promise I didn't intend to end up here. I just wanted to admire his sleeping face before I woke him up.”

“I'm staring at my love sick best friend and the guy I really hope is his mate. I know you didn't intend to end up there. In fact I doubt you moved there on your own since Dox had been so overprotective of you all night last night. It helps that he seemed to be what was keeping you calm” she said with a smile.

“I never said this but I hope he is too though I doubt it since we're both Omegas” I said wiggling to look at him.

“You'll know for sure in about three weeks and I don't think it matters that you're both Omegas. I think the goddess will give you someone who can make you happy despite your past. If you wanna sneak a kiss I won't tell. Just make it a light one so he won't notice” she teased.

“You know, I'm so tempted but I'd rather if he is my mate that he's conscious for our first kiss” I said sitting up on the bed. Before I could say anything else she said “but it wouldn't be your first kiss though since he kissed you at Kyles' wedding.”

“I don't count that one since it was to bring me back to myself instead of a conscious decision made by both of us” I said before saying aloud “hey Dox, it's time to get up. We've still got school today.” He remained unmoving for a minute before groaning “ugh, I hate mondays” and rolling onto his side as Liah and I burst into uncontrollable laughing fits. A few seconds later, he sat up and stared at us before asking “what's so funny?”

“Just that... you always... say that'' Liah said between giggles and trying to breath.

“Yeah, and it will forever remain true” he said rubbing his eyes. Reaching out, I wrapped my arms around him from behind and said “thanks for keeping an eye on me last night.”

“Yeah, no problem. I know you'd do the same for me in a heart beat” he said patting my right arm. When I looked over at Liah, she tried to get me to kiss him but I was too scared to do anything. Instead, I let go and turned to get off the bed to go start my morning routine. Once I was showered and dressed in a pair of dark jeans and another anime shirt, I left the bathroom just in time to see Madox shirtless in a pair of black jeans. Sucking in a sharp silent breath, I caught Liah watching me and linked her.

“God damn, that boy has no right to be that damn sexy” I said making her have to fight not to laugh.

“Yeah, he's pretty fine and that's a pretty shade of pink on your cheeks. You might wanna wipe off the drool from your mouth too by the way” she laughed. Rolling my eyes at her, I moved to my desk to take my morning medications before moving to my dresser to chose jewelry for today. When I finally turned back around, Madox was wearing a tight fitted black V-neck t-shirt with a necklace whose pendent was a silver dagger with a rose wrapped around it hanging millimeters from the tip of the V and his dark gray zip up hoodie. Taking a breath, I asked “we ready to head out?” Nodding, they both grabbed their school bags before heading towards the door. Grabbing mine, I followed closing my door behind me. As we descended the stairs, we could hear talking coming from behind us. Someone behind us said “morning Ty. So, only three weeks until your birthday right?” to which my twin brother responded “you know it's not just my birthday right?”

“Yeah, I know it's Conners' too since you guys are twins” the voice replied.

“Exactly, and since I already know who my mate is the focus will be mainly on Conner” Ty said before opening our link and adding “I'm sorry about him but you know everyone hopes you will find a mate that truly loves you.”

“Yeah, I know. Liah said the same thing this morning. I hadn't realized our birthday was so close. I guess I gotta start figuring out a gift for you” I said as I continued down the stairs. Nearing the bottom, we saw Kyle and mom waiting for us. As the five of us stepped off the stairs we greeted them saying “Alpha, Elder, good morning” and baring our necks making mom roll his eyes and Kyle look confused. Standing up straight, I asked “is there a problem? You usually don't meet us here in the morning.”

“We just wanted to check on you to make sure you were alright” mom said looking worried.

“I'm fine mom, really. These two kept an eye on me all night” I said gesturing to Liah and Madox before opening our link and adding “they even watched me take my meds this morning.”

“He really is as good as he can be this morning” Liah said and Madox added “but don't worry, we'll keep an eye on him throughout the day and send him to Hayley if anything seems off.”

“Alright, you may not be a part of my pack but I'll hold you to that Madox” Kyle said with a smile.

“You know you can trust me specially when it comes to your brother” Madox said with a grin.

“Alright all of you need to go or you'll be late” mom said. Heading out the door, we made our way to school and back into our usual routine that would only last the next three weeks. The day of our birth would come and my life would change forever.
