Less annoying edgy dialogue, more show and tell with how arson is feeling… she starts to sympathize with tate at this point and is appreciative of the lengths he goes to, to make her happy, so she feels guilty for bullying him and decides to leave in order to protect him.
And on Tates side, his never ending resilience with someone who clearly doesn’t wanna be around him can now easily be explained by how his own mom acts around him- she ignores/ avoids him and it takes constant talking or annoying her to make her get up and spend time with him.
