Ru’s POV
This is the most awkward situation I ever had as a ghost.
Me, eye to eye with my girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend. And he’s not averting his eyes.
And the most shocking thing is the fact he can see me.
He can see a ghost!
And he finally averted his eyes and walked away.
He’s still rude as ever. But why would he talk to a ghost anyway?
But that’s weird, right?
He saw me, and it’s very clear as a day. But he didn’t talk to me or anything.
He just avoided me.
Yeah, that’s good. At least he won’t approach Rina ever.
“Hey, Rina, is that Elliot?”
I heard Mona said to her.
Oh no, come on Mona don’t tell it to her.
Rina follows where Mona pointed her. And I saw the realization in her eyes right after it.
She suddenly turned her back.
“I-it’s him.”
“Right? I almost didn’t recognize him because he wears a cup. I didn’t know he comes back already.” Mona wanted to go there and talk to him. She keeps on looking where he is for Pete’s sake.
“Should we approach him? It’s been a long time.”
And there she is. Facepalm.
Rina shakes her head, “I-I guess no,” way to go Rina! That’s my girl!
“Well, if you’re still not fine with talking to him I guess let’s go on the other side to continue our tour then.”
Rina agrees and they once again walk on the other side of the museum.
Sighed.
That was close.
“And what’s the meaning of sighing right now, Ru? Did something happen?”
Marik suddenly appeared in front of me. That frightened me.
“H-hey, y-you're done exploring?” I know he knew something happened.
“Uh-huh,” he said still scrutinizing me. “So what happened?” he still insists.
Can we leave it at that, Marik?!!
“So you mean, Rina’s ex-girlfriend saw you? Are you sure?”
We are both standing next to the restaurant where Rina and Mona eat their lunch.
“I might be wrong, but I know he saw me and he looked at me in the eyes,” I said remembering what happened.
“Well, you might be standing between him and Rina. He just saw her and shyly retreats?” Marik trying to figure it out.
“You think? But I know he saw me. One look at him, and I know.” I can’t be wrong.
What I saw in his eyes is not recognizing Rina, but recognizing the pain and humiliation of seeing me. I know our past can’t be fixed, now that I’m already gone.
And I still don’t wish him well or anything. Elliot just has to live his life away from Rina.
“What if he has this “talent” to see spirits? You know some humans can see us, right?”
Marik is right.
Children can see us until they reach the age of five. And some of them embraced this ability until maturity.
“Maybe you’re right, but we’re still not sure about it.”
“In any case, we have to report this to Prim if it’s the opposite. The death gods have the lists of humans who can see spirits and they have to watch that human not to cause a ruckus or anything.”
Another work for them, huh? No wonder Prim is so stressed.
“Right, let’s see,”
Mona and Rina parted at the train station.
And from the train station, Rina needs to walk a few miles to reach home. She doesn’t take the bus and likes to walk around the neighborhood.
Now that Elliot is back, he’s another problem I need to think of.
He lives around the area too, and the chance for them to meet again is most likely 78% if Rina goes out.
“You’re emitting a dark aura, Ru,” Marik said while we walk a bit slower to Rina.
“Can’t help it, I’m worried.”
“You worried about something you have no control over, huh?”
And there he is again, commenting on the fact that I’m aware of.
“Sometimes, I wish I can be mad at you, Marik.” Sighed.
He just smiles at me. Because he knew I can’t!
But, yeah he has a point. He always has. I’m worried about the things I have no control. I had this bad huh?
“Ru,” suddenly Marik’s voice becomes serious. He holds my shoulder and looks in Rina’s direction.
We're in a deserted street in the neighborhood and it’s already night.
Rina is being harassed by a group of retards.
I ran as fast as I could.
Forgetting the fact that I can’t do anything in this situation.
Elliot’s POV
I can’t believe I run across the two of them today.
Of all the luck.
Zeiru is still the same. I know he’s still mad at me.
And still, I’m a coward, to even back away after seeing him.
Are they still mad at me?
It’s been years but still, I’m too afraid to confront them once again.
I run away from the past, but what’s the difference now? I still do it anyway.
Aww man, I’m hungry now, I lost my appetite thinking too much. Now I have to be careful walking home, or I might saw them in the neighborhood. Should I let my relative send my motorbike here?
I don’t want to walk in the street for a while. This might be the last, I think.
“LET GO OF ME!!!”
I heard a familiar voice from a distance. I can’t be wrong! IT’S RIINA!
And some drunkard guys are harassing her.
Wait, is she alone? Where is he?!
I looked around and I saw Zeiru, standing from a distance with a guy with a red scarf.
What the hell?
Is he going to just watch?!
I felt mad seeing this situation. So I have to move fast and stop this situation.
As I run towards her, Zeiru also runs to her.
But he’s late and seeing me approaching them, Zeiru stops and shocked looking at me.
“YOU STUPID BOYFRIEND! I’M GOING TO PUNCH YOU LATER!!!”
And the fight started.
