After a nice rest I was ready to start the day. I got up and stretched my legs, hoping today would be a nice day. I made the water a nice lukewarm as I stepped inside the shower.
I strolled into the kitchen to move onto breakfast. I put some fresh bread into the toaster and as I waited I started looking at cat videos on my phone. I looked at the ads on the side of the page and there was an advertisement for a job. Right before I could look at it the toast finished, and I am a person who eats toast as hot as possible. It couldn’t wait, I mean, who likes cold toast.
After eating the toast, I grab my things and begin to head to work. As I step out of the door someone pins down my arms.
“Where’d you think your going” they say. I feel another person grab my legs. Then Another two people start punching and kicking me. “Still the same weakling you used to be” I hear someone snicker. I freeze as I hear the voice. No it can’t be, please don’t be, I look up to see the origin of the voice, Leo.
Leo was the kind of person you don’t want to be on the wrong side of, and in case you didn’t know, he’s Lucy’s ex. Lately he has grown to envy me because of Lucy’s sudden interest in myself, so Leo hates me. To me it doesn’t seem at all logical, especially since I have shown no affection to Lucy except for friendship.
A blow to the jaw pulls me out of my thoughts and back to reality. Leo raises his hand to signal the gang to stop. They all walk away as three of them spit on me. I groan as I get up now late for work. I quickly check over my condition and notice I have a black eye and a nose bleed, blood now dripping onto my white shirt. That’s the last straw.
I drive to work, already in a bad mood, never a good sign. I arrive at the door and boss’s secretary is standing there impatiently. As I get out of the car she sighs in a frustrated tone. “You really need to step up your game with that gang” she says. “How did you know about them?” I ask curious in a nervous kind of way. “Lucky guess” she says looking me up and down as if to survey the damage. “Well, the work isn’t going to do itself” she says as I rush into the door.
A while later
I finished my work so I decided to look at the ad. I clicked on it and it opened up to a page with a title saying ‘animal caretaker needed’. I scrolled down to read the rest. ‘A weekend job taking care of dogs I need’ , sounded cool.
