"May I ask another question?"

"No."

"Why not?" Nico's brows furrow slightly as he stares at the ceiling, trying not to touch the omega against his side anymore than Luca is allowing.

"Because you seem to ask the questions that-" Luca grumbles under his breath,"That are personal."

"...How about... In favor for something about you, I tell you something."

"Wow. Nico Lysander really does try to get what he wants."

"I normally win too." The captain mutters and the omega snorts.

"Sure sure..." He perks his lips, brows furrowed tight. He still looks to be in pain, and- despite trying his best to hide it earlier- the trembling that was happening has gone down significantly.

Nico wonders if he had anything to do with that.

"I have blue eyes."

"Wha-" Nico growls, looking down at the boy,"I knew that!"

"You never said what I could or could not say." Luca grins viciously,"Now you go."

"Fine." Nico says in a rather annoyed tone. He glares at the ceiling, feeling kinda mad about how the omega ignored his true intentions. He won't do that though.

"I was raised by only my mother." He says idly,"Father left when I was eight."

Luca is silent, and Nico just lays there, staring at the ceiling of his quarters.

He knows the omega isn't asleep, Luca's eyes still open as he looks down at him. He truly is small, body looking tiny all curled against such a rather large man.

Nico wonders how hes never been harmed before in fights considering his size, and how he'd became such an excellent gunsman. Perhaps he is also well on his feet with a sword?

"Are you well with swords?" He murmurs, and Luca hums thoughtfully.

"Better with my pistols, but yes I can kill with a sword." He looks up at the captain,"Would you like to see Cap'in."

Nico feels suddenly threatened, giving a rather nervous smile,"Um... Not right bow, I do believe that you're in no condition-"

"Whats that supposed to mean?" The omega asks sharply,"No condition my ass."

"No no-" Nico bites his tongue as the omega rolls away from him, back facing him.

The alpha sighs, looking at the ceiling in a frustrated manner. This brat jumps to conclusions so quickly, and his mood changes from one thing to another within moments. He kinda reminds Nico of a-

Nico knows most women have their monthly times. He wonders if the same things apply to a male omega. He's heard rumors that they don't experiance the bleeding, but will have the same problems and pains during a heat if they don't mate properly.

And mating certainly seems to be something that this certain omega seems not too fond of.

Maybe he's just cranky. Hah, thats actually how it seems, isn't it.

"Are you hungry?" Nico sits up, watching as Luca frowns at the wall, eyes angry,"You haven't eaten today."

"Why do you care?"

"Because you asked for my help. And I'm going to teach you how to properly care for yourself during a heat." Nico stands,"And I can tell you now-" He grabs a bowl of fresh fruit that he'd brought in earlier that evening,"Eating when you are partially sane is one of the best things you can do."

Luca lays still for a few moments longer, but then he sits up and glances at the alpha. His face looks a little redder than before, and Nico can't tell if hes embarrassed or if its just his head making him look that way.

He takes a piece of the fruit silently, taking small bites out of it. He doesn't eat much, probably only half of the apple gone by the time he lays it back in the bowl. He glances at the alpha, then carefully looks away.

"Do you know if..." He starts but then clacks his teeth shut, face growing even more cherry than before.

He's obviously embarrassed.

"I don't care what you say. I'm not here for you as an alpha but as your captain and caretaker as of the moment. So..." Nico sets the bowl aside,"Continue."

"I..." Luca frowns, looking conflicted for a moment,"Is it ok for me to want strange things?"

"Depends on what those strange things are..." Nico answers blatantly.

"I dunno just..." Luca shrugs,"Certain delicacies I suppose."

Nico raises a brow, then looks at the ceiling. Delicacies huh? How odd, he isn't sure why Luca would want something like-

"You mean..." He turns his head towards the smaller boy, a smirk crawling across his lips,"Sweets."

Luca stiffens, head whirling on him defiantly,"No! Of course not! I'm not a woman!"

"But you are in heat." The captain chirps, and Luca clenches his teeth before grumbling and looking away from the alphas cocky smirk.

"Fuck you, Captain."

Nico chuckles, watching as Luca sits there looking betrayed. Well, the man can't blame him, he did tell Luca that he'd help. And then when he asks a serious question the alpha jokes.

"Is there anything else?" He asks, and the omega growls.

"I'm not asking you if you're gonna be childish about it." He says harshly,"I asked for your advice and the best you give me is a laugh."

Nico sighs,"I apologize, but if that is what you're wanting, then its normal. Your body wants sweets because it's craving sugar and other such things to keep your body captivated."

"Well then..." Luca grumbles something under his breath, tugging the blanket back onto his shoulder,"...Whatever."

"Is there anything else?" The captain asks.

"Well the-" Luca fidgets, grabbing at the furs, twisting it between his fingers.

"Hm?" Nico tries to look him in the eyes, and the younger man turns his face away.

"Do you know how... Omegan biology works?"

Nico's brows raise considerably, and he shifts his weight, staring at the kid.

"Do you not know how your own body works?" He asks, honestly a little surprised.

"I know the basics ok. Don't treat as if I'm dumb." Luca spits,"I just... I don't know the more complex stuff."

"Didn't your parents teach you?"

"...No."

"Ok... You know how sex works."

"What the-" Luca gives him a sharp glare, cheeks flaring,"Of course, you idiot!"

"Ok ok..." Nico nods,"I know you know how pregnancy works and all that."

"Yeah yeah..." Luca frowns, hiding his face again,"Omegas carry pups for six months as opposed to a female alpha or beta... Thays why we go into fucking heat every damn month, so we can be bred blah blah... Just... How does our biology work with others."

"Oh that's..." Nico flushes now,"Well of course alphas and omegas are naturally attracted to eachother."

"But why." Luca says in a mutter,"Its odd don't you think. Why would you be naturally attracted to one specific gender."

"Because in this world, omegas and alphas make up 70 percent of the world." Nico says,"And omegas are..." He bites his lip as he glances at the kids back,"Usually submissive whereas an alpha dominates. Its basic common knowledge that an omega wants an alpha during a heat, and an alpha will chase an omega down if they're in rut."

"Why does my body hurt while I'm heat?" Luca near whispers. His ears are bright red from what Nico can see.

"Cause you..." The captain bites the inside of his jaw,"Its because your instincts want an alpha."

"But I don't want or need one." The omega says harshly,"So why-"

"You may not, but that small part of your brain does, and right now it has the reigns on your body so its only normal."

"What about you?"

"Huh?"

"Do you rut?" Luca looks at him, and Nico can see something in his eyes that's just a little more than curiousty.

"Once a year." Nico says bluntly,"I have good control over my body. I don't have to rut every three months like most alphas."

"Wha- but..." Luca gives him an incredulous look,"Wouldn't it just be really strong then?"

"Yes but I let off steam throughout the year." Nico says simply,"Its called fucking sweetheart."

"What- I know that dipshit." Luca snarls,"I'm not a petty idiot. I know how that works."

"Yes but have you ever actually taken a nice long break from everything just to fuck around. Its quite nice as long as you're careful."

"I'm not so low as to need sex everytime I hit shore." Luca says, looking away from the older man,"I'm not a dog." He whispers.

Nico stares at the back of that brown hair, and his eyes slowly widen. Perhaps the reason Luca is so curious is because-

"You're a virgin aren't you?"

"What does it matter to you." Luca glares at him harshly,"I never said I was, did I."

Nico nods but says,"But you never said you weren't either."

"You're an incredibly annoying man. I can see why youre the most wanted pirate, and it isn't for those you've killed." Luca says, laying back down,"I'm sleeping, leave me be."

Nico swallows. Somehow the thought of the brat being a virgin makes his mind and heart race, his fingers twisting in the furs as he pulls his own over his body and turns his back to the kid.

"Night Luca."

"...Night. Now shut up, your like an insistant child."

Nico snorts.
