Well, this story is your work. It's the story you want to tell. If there are parts that are too hard for you to write / draw, then don't. If you want to change it into a fantasy setting, then feel free to do so. You have my support either way.
However, as someone who writes a rather big fanfic in a fantasy setting, lemme tell you that worldbuilding can be a pain. ^^
If you're not into that, it might be easier to just stick to the real world.
