TRONO: (The Last Monarch)

The Messenger (Part 3)

The Messenger (Part 3)

Sep 22, 2021

What the hell?! Where is this voice coming from? It's as if it's inside my head!

I tried to slap my head softly, thinking that it would make the weird phenomenon vanish. Everything went silent so I thought that I was just hearing things, not until the voice echoed again inside my head.

[Time is ticking. Jump now or die.]

"Wait! Wouldn't I die either way?! This is the fourth floor, you creep!" I shouted, thinking that the person behind the voice would hear me.

[There is an active astral that will prevent you from crashing to the ground. You need to jump right now! Leave your bracelet!]

The voice became more frantic as time went by, making me a bit anxious too. Isn't this only a prank made to scare me? It is, right? Still, I removed my bracelet and placed it on the bed side table.

Wait, this person knew that I had a bracelet?

[Please... I don't want you to... Please, just jump!]

My heartbeat became faster, and many thoughts occupied my head. If I jumped out there and nothing was actually casted out there to prevent me from crashing, I would die. But if what this voice is telling wasn't actually a big fat lie, then I would die.

What's the best choice?

With a face full of determination, I faced the window, grabbed the open windowpane and stuck out one of my feet. "Let's gamble." I whispered before closing my eyes, held my breath, and jumped out of the building.

The wind was brushing against me, and I'm afraid to open my eyes thinking that death could fall upon me any second for I don't have any Astral abilities that can support me right now.

The brushing wind stopped and so my holding of breath. I coughed and gasped for air but I didn't realize that I was floating, 12 inches off the ground before impact.

"WAIT, YOU WEREN'T LYIN--" KABOOM!! An explosion occurred. It is exactly where my room is. My heart raced once again, my mind filled with questions, and a tremendous pain struck my body. The strain on my body was probably spreading. Beady tears formed in my eyes, seemingly wanting to drop any second.

[Somebody wants you dead, Venaira Kou.]
