Thankfully, the rest of the day went rather smoothly for Sakura. She managed to find and fix most of the bugs in her code and was feeling far more confident in it. If she could get it to do exactly what she needed before the end of the semester, she could be looking at finishing her degree with a huge publication. Her good mood was slightly dampened when she had to travel on the train with her many bags, during rush hour of course. But, once she was home, she dumped everything on the couch and enjoyed the delicious smell of whatever Saku was cooking. Then she heard giggling and two voices coming from the kitchen.
Saku was not alone.
“Suzu-kun, stop. I’ve given you like three samples! And as much as I enjoy the sounds of you enjoying my cooking, I do have to focus.” Saku’s silky smooth voice practically purred as he talked to his boyfriend.
“I can’t help it, your food is amazing.”
There was another laugh followed by a soft moan and Sakura knew she needed to make her presence known before she walked in on something she definitely did not want to see.
“I’m home!” she called from the living room as a warning before she walked into the kitchen.
Suzu stood behind her brother, arms wrapped around his waist, and a light blush on his face. Saku, meanwhile had his attention on the food, one hand gripping a wooden spoon that stirred the food in the pan, the other on top of Suzu’s arms, keeping him from letting go. He glanced up to grin at Sakura.
“Hello Sakura-chan! How was school?”
“Good evening, Sakura-san,” Suzu said, “sorry for the intrusion.”
Sakura sighed, leaning against the doorframe, as she looked at the two of them. They were stupid cute together.
“You know you’re never intruding, Suzu-kun. What’s for dinner, Saku?”
“I’m trying out a spicy noodle dish with beef and string beans. And yes, I will add extra peppers to yours, I’m just getting the main serving finished up.”
Saku’s culinary talents were no joke. Sakura had been lucky enough to grow up eating his food so she hadn’t realized just how good he was until they had gotten older. And now, thanks to Suzu’s encouragement, he was finally going to pursue it as a career—once he wrapped up his current line of work. Still, Saku was finally going to do something for himself and she was so proud.
There was also the added bonus that he’d been practicing lots of fantastic new recipes so he’d be ready for interviews when they came along. Which meant Sakura had been eating quite well the past month.
“Smells delicious, as usual. Hey, Aya has a job for you if you’re interested.”
“Oh? Is she working on another collection?”
“Yup, she’ll need you next weekend and is willing to pay.”
Saku flipped the food in the pan effortlessly, stirring everything up a bit more before adding in his final touches.
“Mmm babe, do we have plans next weekend?”
“Nothing specific, no.”
“Wanna see me be a model?” Saku said in a playful voice, looking up to smirk at his boyfriend.
“Is it some sort of show?”
“Nah, just like a low-key photoshoot. Aya likes it when I wear her portfolio pieces.”
“I’m sure it will be quite enjoyable to watch then.”
Suzu leaned down, kissing Saku’s forehead and Sakura wanted to gag. The two of them were just so damn affectionate.
“Great, I’ll tell her to message you all the details.”
“Thanks, sis,” Saku said, distracted as he leaned up to kiss Suzu more.
Sakura rolled her eyes and left the kitchen, knowing it was best for her sanity. The two weren’t often at the twins’ place, especially after Sakura had come home two too many times to the two of them in far more intimate situations and threatened to cut certain appendages off if they didn’t keep it contained to the bedroom. Admittedly, Sakura did enjoy her privacy whenever Saku stayed with Suzu, but it was also nice having him home. But when Suzu was with him, it seemed like his attention was only on the other man.
Saku was so in love, even if he wouldn’t admit it out loud.
