Without further ado, I slowly walked away from where I crashed down. I would've ran if only my whole body is in good condition but now's not the time to make excuses because I think my life is at stake here.
"Hey mom, mom, look at her-"
"Shhh! Don't look, son! She might attack us!"
"Hey, shouldn't we call the police or an ambulance?"
"Holy shit! Her cosplay looks very realistic!"
If a sinkhole appeared right in front of me, I would've dived right in. Never to be seen again. My appearance is making me stand out and their feedback doesn't really help! Please just let me disappear, I thought as I tried to hide my face by covering it with my hair.
It's been a good 25 minutes since we left the hospital grounds and I was getting really nervous because the 'voice' was silent the whole time and it's not really helping with the anxiety that I'm feeling right now too. "Uhm, am I even going the righ--"
[We're here. This is the street. Take a glance at your left and look for a small store.]
"Why are you only saying something now when you were so talkative earlier! You scared me! Well... no... I was just curious about why you suddenly went silent..." My last sentence was really inaudible but I don't think it heard me. It was just a mere passing thought anyway! Mmm, yeah!
[I'm trying to conserve energy.]
"Jeez, just use a solar panel." Without realizing, my inner thoughts actually came out of my mouth and I covered it instantly. This voice wouldn't leave me for a little complaint, right?
[Wha-- pfft-- It doesn't work that way.]
"Did you just snort? I think I just heard your voice crack."
[You're imagining things. Continue your search.]
I certainly heard them chuckle earlier, my ears couldn't be wrong. Or head?
I squinted my eyes until my eyes caught a not so beautiful store. I walked towards it with my anticipation rising the closer I got to it's doorstep. There were cobwebs hanging around the door, an untidy window pane showcasing different and peculiar things on display, and a rusty doorknob to top it all off. My jaw slightly opened and gasped at the view right in front of me.
"Hey, voice. Are you seeing what I'm seeing right now? I think I came to the wrong place. Can you describe the store that I'm supposed to look for instead of a vague description?" I asked the 'voice' while holding a chunk of red locks of my hair on both of my hands to cover my face. A precautionary measure to ensure that no one would recognize me.
