How to Change Tomorrow

How to Change Tomorrow

Nov 04, 2021

Perspective of Rayne

I know things. I can see the threads of fate, the way they wind around each being. They tangle around one another, pulling at one another, twisting and curling. I can see the end of this planet, the dark roughness that these mortal children will endure. So I changed them.

There are endless outcomes for each decision-- call it the butterfly effect. Every sequence of events has an alternative, and every choice causes different things to happen. What I do, it’s only preventing the most painful and gruesome of events.

The pull of a string, a touch of magic, and a murderer becomes a police officer, a schizophrenic finds help, an abuse victim gets justice. Wouldn’t you prefer a world where the dead stay dead? The monsters stay in the shadows? The good guys stay good, and the bad stay bad? Is it not worth the sacrifice of a few, for the sake of the rules?

So I bought a gun, and shot him.

On the planet of Melnia, disease is nearly nonexistent, life lasts forever, death isn't always the end, and insanity is just an occupational hazard. The ribbons of fate tangle in an elaborate story about love, death, and everything impossible.

Warning to sensitive readers: Spiderweb Sentiment contains graphic topics including violence, mental illness, gore and other topics some may find disturbing. This is only to make the characters realistic to their nature, however if any of these topics make you uncomfortable then I suggest you read a different book.
