"I’m leaving now,” Sobahle said, bending down to kiss Trevor’s cheek. He stirred from his slumber and took a hold of her arm. As much as he wanted her to stay close to him, until midday even, he knew that she had to go to work.
Still, he held on to her.
“Bahle, stay longer. You never stay with me anymore.” He slowly opened his eyes, sleepily staring into hers. “This is starting to feel more like a fling than a relationship.”
She sweetly smiled, looking at the dishevelled mess that was her boyfriend. “Oh gosh, you’re being dramatic Trevvy. It’s just been a busy week.” She frowned when her phone started ringing. She looked down at it, raising her eyebrows at the sight of the caller ID. He made his disappointment obvious, but he let go of her arm and allowed her to take the call. Work was, after all, important. “I’ll call you later.” She told him, rushing out of the hotel room as she answered the phone. “Steven. I’m on my way… That’s okay.” When Trevor heard her speak he knew that it was not okay. “We can just finish off the PowerPoint when I get there,” Sobahle said, her voice fading the further she got from the bedroom. “Great. I’ll proofread it when I get there.”
She was too far away from her workplace. That was his fault, Trevor realised as she shut the door behind her. He wanted them to go to a hotel when he knew that it was far away from where she worked. He was only thinking about his own needs when he fetched her from work the day before. She had a meeting on the other side of town and he took it as an opportunity for them to go to one of the most private hotels for celebrities alike.
Information seldom leaked when they went to that hotel. But then again, he should have been patient about it and taken her home instead.
He sat up, taking his phone from the side table. His manager, Melusi, had sent him a text, reminding him about the studio session with the new composer later in the day. He sighed, putting his phone away.
He had to get ready to go back before they came to fetch him, as they always did when he was just trying to have a break.
Trevor managed to have a few successful phone calls with his girlfriend for the rest of month. They did not meet another time. He wasn’t too upset about it. Just disappointed, seeing that she was always too tired to see him. He’d often times find her passed out on the bed when he had some time off from recordings and appearances. It was seldom that he found her completely free. When she was, he wasn’t.
He knew that he shouldn’t have, but he was starting to doubt if their relationship was still…a relationship.
❤️ Bahle wami ❤️
We need to talk.
That one line made him choke on his water as soon as he read it. She sent the text three hours ago, and he had just seen it. Could she also feel the distance that was starting to form between them? Was she getting fed up by the lack of intimacy between them?
Why did she want to talk?
