Hi Mom!
I know I haven’t contacted you in a year. I’m sorry about that.
“Kind of...” She muttered to herself.
I’ve actually been having a lot of fun living here. I’ve made some new friends in Selén. Like the old woman who runs the little spice shop. You would like her because she’s crazy like you. By the way, I love you very much.
I hope you and Maple have been doing well. I know her exam for knighthood is coming up soon. Tell her I wish her better luck than I had!
Oh! I’m also learning how to make potions. I’ve made some already and they have turned out pretty good! I’m really excited to start the lessons. Hopefully, I can learn a good spell to keep Maple from accidentally breaking another dining table. Speaking of which, is that thing still alive? Remember you still have the warranty.
I’ll come by for a visit sometime during the summer. I love and miss you both!
~ Mabel
Mabel sealed the envelope with a wax seal and opened the window. Aiden was down in the garden tending to some herbs, “Hey!” She waved the envelope above her head. He looked up at her and gave her a thumbs up. He let out a shrill whistle and a brightly colored fox leaped out of the bushes. Mabel threw the envelope and watched as it flitted and spun gracefully down to them. The fox caught the letter in his mouth and Aiden told him where to go. Letting him sniff one of Mabel’s belongings to help them find her family.
The fox sped back into the bushes and was expected to come back whenever her family wrote a response.
