The point of scavenger hunt was to find the item of most value or whatever the judge specified. The only thing was it had to come off the body of the person that they killed.
Mikey was declared the judge because they needed someone who wasn’t biased towards any of them. Kenny was the first to present his find. He pulled a gold wedding ring out of his pocket and handed it to Mikey. Mikey tested it with his teeth before moving onto Franky.
Franky was disappointed, he picked the wrong bandit. The only thing of any kind of worth was a beautiful feather. Franky was sure that Kenny was going to win, but Smitty pulled out a gold crown and handed it to Mikey with confidence.
“Where did you find that?” Kenny blurted out.
“The shoes. Always check the shoes.” Smitty lied. The boys didn’t know it because they weren’t there when Smitty was caught, but Smitty always cheated to win this game.
“Dammit.” Kenny sighed.
Franky cursed at himself, he hadn’t checked the shoes. Why didn’t he think to check the shoes?
Mikey held all three items and looked them over. He got to keep whichever item wins. He immediately gave the gold ring back to Kenny.
“Fuck.” Kenny complained.
Mikey then put the feather in his hair. He obviously liked the feather, but would he choose it over money? The answer was no. Mikey handed the feather back to Franky and pocketed the gold crown.
“The feather is pretty, but I like money.” Mikey announced.
“Yes!” Smitty shouted, “I’m exempt from the first watch in Schcarnite!”
The winner of the scavenger hunt got to choose a choir to skip. Franky and Kenny were both displeased by having to be on watch longer. However, Franky was happy that he got to keep his feather. It was pretty after all.
“I got you something.” Kenny climbed onto the carriage and handed the gold ring to Magnus who took it daintily with a cloth.
“Thanks.” Magnus said almost as if he was questioning whether or not he should be thankful for the ring. It was clear he had no interest in the ring of a deadman.
With the scavenger hunt over, the gang continued their trip to Schcarnite without any more hitches. When they arrived, Franky intercepted Magnus before he could get into the rented house.
“I think this would look good on you.” He said as he placed the feather in Magnus’ long hair.
“Thanks. It’s very pretty.”
“No you’re what’s pretty. If I had a gold crown for the number of people I’ve seen that are as pretty as you, well I’d only have one gold crown.”
Magnus blushed at Franky’s obvious attempt to flirt. “Uh. Thanks mate.”
Magnus didn’t allow Franky to say anything else as he headed into the house to get some sleep. It had been a long ride and he needed to be rested up for the next day.
Kenny took the first watch allowing Franky to get some sleep. Franky was no stranger to falling asleep on whatever was available, which tonight, meant an old dingy couch. It didn’t take him long to drift off and it felt like only minutes before Kenny Kicked him awake.
The cyclopes dwarf literally kicked Franky in the side to wake him, sending Franky into a panic. He jumped off the couch and was ready to grab the musket he set on the floor beside the couch.
He was getting ready to aim the gun when Kenny said, “It’s me you dumbass. It’s your turn.”
Kenny didn’t stay around for long, but made sure Franky saw him as he entered the master bedroom. Kenny thought Franky would be jealous of the fact that he got to sleep in a real bed and not on some couch, but in reality Franky was jealous that he wasn’t the one sleeping cuddled next to Magnus.
Franky was still awake when Magnus exited the house. He was the only one awake other than Franky, and apparently this was a thing that Magnus did. He’d wake up before the crack of dawn to get a work out in.
Franky watched Magnus for a little while before deciding to join Magnus. This was a good way to get close to him without Kenny interfering. Plus, up close he could see the way Magnus’ muscles worked.
“Are your legs tired? You’ve been running in my mind all morning.” Franky flirted.
It was a shame that Magnus was too dense to pick up what Franky was trying to put down and answered, “What do you mean? I’ve been running for maybe two minutes and I don’t even know how one can run in someone’s mind.”
Franky sighed, “It was just a saying. Nothing literal about it.”
“Oh okay.” he simply answered as the two continued their jog.
“You’re into health stuff right? Are you aware of vitamins and such?”
“Yeah those are very important to maintaining a good body.”
“Have you heard that doctors are recommending hot people to increase their intake of vitamin ME.”
“What’s that one? Must be a new one.”
Again Franky signed. He was getting nowhere with this himbo. “Yeah, it’s pretty new. I wouldn't expect most people to be familiar with it.”
There was an awkward silence before Franky decided he would try one more time to pick up Magnus. “So do you need to get your protein macros up? If so, I'd gladly put my meat inside you.”
“That’s nice of you, but Kenny feeds me well and he always makes sure I have meat for all my meals.”
That was it. Franky was frustrated with how this was going. It was clear that Franky was going to have to put in a lot of work to make this bloke fall for him. It was a miracle that Kenny managed to get this guy considering Kenny’s lack of communication.
