Meanwhile back at home, it is about 8 o’clock in the morning. Derek is in the shower. Humming at his thoughts of his date. He tries to wake up as he washes his face. He had stayed up late that night after waking up in the middle of the night. He finishes up in the bathroom and heads to his room. He looks through his clothes trying to figure out what to wear. He puts on a yellow and navy striped sleeved shirt with a pair of white washed jeans. A dark navy blue scarf and a dark navy stocking cap. A pair of glasses that are dark framed. A light brown leather belt and a pair of navy sneakers. He looks at the clock and it says 10 o’clock. He goes down stairs and sees his mother has fallen asleep on the couch. The TV is on and there is an open wine bottle on the coffee table. The bottle is about half empty and beside the bottle is an empty wine glass. He sighs and grabs the car keys that are sitting on an end table by the couch. He slips out the door and walks to the vehicle. He gets in and buckles up. He starts in and heads down the driveway to head into town. He gently and carefully drives down the road into town. He carefully pulls and parks when he arrives at the cafe’. He checks the clock when he is parked and it says 10:50 am. He smiles at the thought of him being early and the hope that he is the first to arrive. He gets out and goes into the cafe’. He looks at the menu over again to try to figure out what to order. He decides to order a Jeepers Creepers and a Bone and Eyeball Cake. He picks out a table in the corner of the cafe’ and waits for his order to get done. The girl that flirted with him yesterday brings his order to him. He lets out an exhausted sigh when he notices that it is her. She sets it down in front of him with a flirty smile. She leans against the table with her flirty smile.
“Hey cutie,” She greets and looks at his coffee, “How about we get to know each other better?”
“Like,” Derek asks as he takes a sip of coffee.
“Like maybe go on a date,” She answers, trying to sound seductive.
“You’re not really my type,” He comments nicely.
“Oh, I’m not,” She asks, almost cooing out.
“Yep.” He answers while popping the p.
“What is your type,” She asks, still trying to be seductive.
“First you have to be male,” He answers and the girl looks at him in shock.
“You’re gay,” She asks with wide eyes.
“Yep and I’m waiting for my date,” He answers and she slowly leaves in shock. Kyle shows up shortly after the girl leaves. He goes and looks at the menu. He decides and orders. Then he goes over and finds Derek. He sits down by Derek when he finds him.
“Hey cutie,” He greets Derek and Derek smiles with a slight blush.
“Hey,” Derek greets and the girl brings out Kyle’s order. This time she walks up to the table with a frown when she sees that Kyle is sitting with Derek. She forcibly puts down Kyle’s order. Almost spilling it on to the table and Kyle. Kyle looks at her confused and dumbfounded. Derek looks at her in shock. She leaves quickly and angrily. Kyle looks at Derek as if asking if he saw that or not. Derek softly nods.
“I guess she is having a bad day,” Kyle comments with a slight chuckle.
“Yeah, and I’m the one that got away,” Derek jokes quietly.
“What do you mean by that,” Kyle asks confused but intrigued.
“She has tried to pick me up and hit on me. Then I told her my type and it seems to have upset her,” Derek answers with a small sigh.
“Ah, I see,” He comments as he leans in close to Derek. Then they hear something fall and brake on the floor. They look over and see the girl staring at them. She had dropped a tray that held a plate that had a Bat Brownie on it and a tea cup that held an order of Witch’s Brew tea. The plate and cup lay broken on the floor. Kyle smirks as she glares at him. Derek looks at her in shock and wide eyes.
‘You don’t him, I’ll tell the Alpha,’ She tells Kyle telepathically.
‘The Alpha? The Alpha knows that I’m seeing someone,’ Kyle answers her with a smirk.
‘He’s Marie Aluna’s brother,’ She comments and he stiffens a bit. Then looks at Derek.
‘He isn’t a hunter though. He smells like one of us,’ Kyle comments while giving Derek a smile. Derek is nibbling on his cake.“I guess she didn’t believe me till she saw you flirting,” Derek comments with a small smile.
“I guess so,” Kyle chuckles out.
‘He may smell like one of us but he will never be one of us,’ She growls as she bends down to clean up her mess.
‘Stop being a bitch because he turned your ass down,’ Kyle comments as he side glances at the girl.
‘I’m not being a bitch He is a lone wolf that is trespassing in our terroriary. He needs to disappear,’ She says as she finishes cleaning up the mess.
‘He just got to town. He won’t cause problems,’ Kyle growls, lowly.
‘I’ll let the Alpha know who you actually are dating,’ She chuckles as she walks away.
“She is unpleasant,” Derek comments
“You have no idea,” Kyle says absent mindedly, “So, tell me about these books or the book you were reading. It sounded like they were interesting,”
“Well, if I tell you about them you can’t tell my family I told you ok,” Derek comments sheepishly.
“I promise I won’t,” Kyle answers while crossing his heart in an x fashion.
“Ok. Well, there was one about Basiliks and the rules for handling and dealing with them. The book was really old but looked like it was barely read,” Derek says with his eyes shining with excitement and interest.
“What do you mean,” Kyle asks confused.
“It was a how to guide on how to talk, greet, and even do more with Basiliks,” Derek answers and Kyle goes wide eyed.
“Where did you find this book,” Kyle asks, interested.
“In my grandpa’s old study,” Derek answers with a bright smile, “He has loads of books in there.”
“Did you read any other books,” Kyles asks curiously.
“Mhm” Derek answers with excitement, “I kind of stayed up late reading. Some were even in different languages.”
“Okay. What else did you read,” Kyle asks while in deep thought.
“There was one book that just told about Earth Fae. It had everything in it. Like their height, their weight, their favorite food, and much more,” Derek answers as he picks up his cup.“Sounds like these books go into a lot of detail,” Kyle comments as he takes a drink of his drink.
“Yeah. The weird thing is all of them seem to have been written by someone in our family. Some seem violent and some seem peaceful or friendly,” Derek answers as he goes to get a drink.
“How many did you read,” Kyle asks, a bit concerned.
“I think about 20,” Derek answers in a whisper as he takes a sip of his drink.
“Okay. Tell me about another book you read,” Kyle coaxes as he sets his cup down.
“There was one that described the various forms of phoenixes,” Derek comments as he reaches for his cake.
“Form,” Kyle questions, a little confused.
“Yeah. Phoenixes, I guess, can take a human form,” Derek answers while grabbing his cake.
“Okay,” Kyle comments in shock.
“There was also another one that told how to talk, greet, and much more but it was for witches and wizards,” Derek comments as he continues to ramble at this point, “There was another witch and wizard book but it was on their strengths. Then there was a book that explained what and who the Fae are. There was one about the different forms of Sirens. Sorry, I’m rambling.”
“No. It’s fine, you don’t have to apologize. It’s cute,” Kyle comments and Derek blushes bright red.
“You’re too nice. I know that I can get annoying when I ramble,” Derek comments softly while blushing.
“You weren’t annoying. You were adorable. Now, the book you were reading when you messaged me. What kind of book was that,” Kyle asks with a kind smile.
“Well, that one was interesting but it also was scary,” Derek answers, “It was a herb book but it was about poisons. It told of how much to use and what it's used for. Like there is one called Aconitum. It is also called Wolf’s Bane. It told how to administer it for torture, control, or death. It said dosage length of time to have in a person. I don’t want to know how they found any of that out. There are other ways. I mean there were books on how to talk to the others. Then there has to be one for all of them right?”
He stops the quiet ramble and looks at Kyle. Kyle has gone wide eyed.
“Derek, can I tell you a secret,” Kyle asks and Derek nods, “I am a werewolf.”“No,” Derek says in shock and Kyle grabs Derek's hands.
“I am and I want to talk to your sister about what you found,” Kyle says and Derek nods.
“You know, my sister,” Derek asks with slight pain in his eyes.
“Yes, but I didn’t know you were related to her when I asked you on a date,” Kyle comments and Derek pulls his hands from Kyle.
“How do you know my sister,” Derek asks, looking Kyle in the eyes. Derek’s eyes start to shift into a golden color.
“My family was friends with your grandfather,” Kyle answers with a small sigh.
“Friends? Did they do what he did,” Derek asks with a frown.
“Yes, but they stopped,” Kyle answers truthfully.
“So, they hurt people,” Derek comments in a whisper.
“They did till they changed,” Kyle answers with a nervous chuckle.
“So, they don’t hurt anyone anymore,” Derek asks with slight hope in his voice.
“They only hurt to protect their family,” Kyle answers with a hidden frown.
“What do you want to talk to my sister about and which one,” Derek asks with a kind smile.
“Marie. I think we can get an agreement with the wolves and your sister’s kind,” Kyle answers with hope in his voice.
“I can ask her when she gets home,” Derek answers with a smile.
“Home? Where did she go,” Kyle asks curiously.
“ She left with the butler. I think she said his name was Josiph,” Derek answers with worry in his voice.
“Ah, the fang,” Kyle comments and Derek looks at him confused, “Josiph is a vampire.”
“Do you think she will be ok,” Derek asks, trying to calm down and try not to worry.
“She will be fine. She is strong,” Kyle answers with a reassuring smile.
“You sure,” Derek asks, not fully believing it.
“Yep, all hunters are,” Kyle answers while still smiling.
“Is that what Marie is? What our grandpa was,” Derek asks curiously.
