“What do you believe in?”
“In myself” I answered unsure.
“I believe in the universe.”
“For real? Why?”
“Because it’s pure magic. Some people hunt for fantasy in unusual places, but I believe I've known it since I was a child."
“Space?”
She exclaimed, "No, mystery!" I followed her and saw little footsteps with long pauses in order to admire something what no one had ever touched before.
“The universe is just a vast ocean full of this element which we like to call magic.” explained before leading me in the field full of wizened leaves.
“Do you think they really got to step on the moon?” She had a little pause before responding,
"..., but I think it’s easy not to believe in a story like this. But again, I wasn’t there, I can’t tell. Therefore, I prefer not to talk nonsense.”
We finally lay down, smelling dead leaves, anticipating a major storm. “It’s your birthday today. Excited?” I’m not sure why she keeps asking me about that. I guess it’s the part of her who wishes to see me live these moments to the fullest, but that is not how I like to spend my time.
“Are you sure you don’t want to stay here tonight? We can enjoy this storm coming.”
“I wish… But my mother, on the other hand, would murder me.”
“Was worth a shot. It would have been lovely to celebrate my birthday with someone..." I stated this as I rested my head on her chest. Her hands played with my hair for a few moments before I lost conscience and fell asleep. Panic crept into my mind, causing me to bolt out of bed, oblivious to where I was.
“Uh, my room” I murmured, hit by the acknowledgment
that this was simply one more delightful dream of mine. Today is my birthday,
and I am alone. No Allison, no birthday…
