The smell of dust drowned me in a sense of dread and uncertainty. My notebook was lifted by me, analyzed by my eyes. Forty-four hours went by through me, causing me to become increasingly anxious. It was as if all the pressure of having to make the most important decision of my life was concentrated in that moment.
I looked up and saw a bright future. For one brief moment I wasn't alone, I got to share my life for so long, and now I get the chance to risk it all... "What do you have to lose? Reputation? Happiness? Maybe there's nothing to be lost because you can always run away from this life."
As a result, I began walking in the direction of dusk. My pure moment has been guided by a palette of golds and reds. Nature seemed to be speaking to me. As I walked down the lonely road, I continued to play with my pen. My diary was now in my back pocket, close enough for me to feel it.
I noticed a house after a while, when the sun had already reached the ground. For a long time, it was deserted, but that is no longer the case. The light in one of the rooms was turned on, and I could see some changes in the garden from afar. It was taken care of by someone.
I ran to it, nervous and shaky. Breathing became a little harder with each meter, I was closer to it. When I realized there was a girl outside the house, standing on a blanket in the middle of the field, my heart skipped a beat.
One step closer to the truth, and then I started to ask myself if I wanted to find out what this was all about. I reached the point of clarity of her, and it was true. Her face was like the one in my dreams, her body lived to my reality and her smile made it to me.
"...hello" I whispered.
It was her who turned her head towards me. As the wind moved her floral home dress, the girl of my dreams appeared in front of me.
"Hi, Austin. It took you long enough." She glimpsed smiling at me.
We left ourselves getting lost in the end of the day after I sat down. Falling was a part of our journey as our paths crossed. Everything felt real as we danced through pure memories. She was touching my face, kissing my lips with hers, and singing to my ears with her voice, with no explanation. She remembered everything as if my dreams had come true. "However, I recall everything becoming real. I don't recall ever being a part of this world, only yours. It's a completely different sensation. Every time we met, I felt more alive, until one day I realized I could take charge of my life and be the person I was meant to be. I understand I'm not from around here, and I'm going to act likewise..."
We walked for a long time trying to figure it out what was a story and what was not. "Do you want to explore where you came from?" I asked unsure.
"No. I want us to explore the place where I came
from. Maybe you can help me with that."
