In a study room, a man clad in a yellow robe with intricate dragon embroidery sat on his chair as he glanced at the papers on his desk. A frown made its way on his sword shaped eyebrows, before he wrote something on the paper and pressed down his white jade royal stamp.

The man was very handsome, perhaps the most handsome man in this whole empire. With perfect sword eyebrows, a pair of phoenix eyes, straight and high nose bridge, a thin and seductive pale red lips, high cheekbones and sharp jaw; it was as if he was being carved from the finest jade.

Coupled with his tall height at 193 cm, perfect body with strong and hard muscle, he was the embodiment of a perfect male model in the modern world.

Just by sitting there doing paperwork, the man looked like he just walked out of an old Chinese painting.

And he was still young, at the prime age of 23 years old.

His peace was interrupted when the Head Eunuch came and whispered to him some words. He nodded his head and said, "Let the General come in."

The Head Eunuch bowed and quickly went to get the man himself. A minute later, Bai Jian Yu came in and kneeled at the man in front of him.

"Your Majesty."

The man known as the highest ranking in entire Xian Dynasty, Emperor Xian Long Wei, showed a small smile. "General Bai, stand up," he paused, phoenix eyes watched while the man rumored as the strongest in the whole empire stood straight, "is there anything general wants to report to Zhèn*?

Since he reigned as an emperor of Xian Dynasty, the empire had been in a state of peace. The countries under his reign lived peacefully with the others. Even if there were threats of rebellion, the small spark was put out even before it could become a proper fire.

And this man in front of the emperor was the one who made it possible. Bai Jian Yu was a man who *to stand tall and see far. He was a once in 1000 years genius in war. However, today, he looked a bit different. To the others he might seemed like his usual cold self but Emperor Xian Long Wei could see it, deep within his dark midnight eyes, a small waves were there.

"Your Majesty, this official would like to ask for His Majesty to gift him a pill of 'Thousand Years of Lotus Seeds'." Since Bai Jian Yu was an upright and straightforward person, he didn't like to sugar-coat his words. He firmly bowed again as he cupped both of his hands.

The 'Thousand Years of Lotus Seeds' was a pill that was rumored to be able to cure any sickness. The pills were made from a rare lotus that bloomed once every one thousand years. And, Emperor Xian possessed a quite good amount of it in his treasury.

How did Emperor of Xian manage to get the rare treasure?

It was because the deceased emperor, the current Emperor's dear father was a man who loved medicine more than anything. Almost his entire life was devoted into developing and researching the rare medicine. When the war begun, he needed to leave his hobby of developing medicine.

The previous emperor had searched low and high for this rare Thousand Years of Lotus and one day, when he was hunting with General Bai and Prime Minister Hong Ji Yu, he found it in the lake, deep in the forest that was rumored to have lots of fierce wild beasts. After getting it, he himself made the lotus seeds into this rare pill that could cure any of the illnesses.

Emperor Xian Long Wei was a little surprised with the request since everyone knew how hard it was to find the medicine but he didn't show it on his face. He merely lifted his right forefinger and tapped once on the study table.

"And why would General Bai ask for the pill? General Bai himself knows how hard is it for the previous Emperor to find and make the pills."

Still in bowing position, Bai Jian Yu said, "This official knows," he paused, "but, there is a dire situation happens at this official's house and he is in need of that particular medicine."

"Oh, and what is it? May General Bai enlighten Zhèn?"

"This official's Ger child has been sick and even after he has invited the most prominent healer, Old Master Shen, his sickness still couldn't be cured. That is why this humble official doesn't have another choice but to prostate himself in front of His Majesty to ask for a pill of Thousand Years of Lotus Seeds," he paused again, "may His Majesty grant this lowly one's selfish request."

"Hm..." Emperor Xian just stared at the strong humble official of his. This general had been an honest and upright person. And he had never held any ill intention of rebellion even if he held the power of more than half of the army troops. He never asked for personal request. Even if he brought victory to the their country, he remained humble and didn't ask for gift - though, the emperor still gifted him the land and his own people.

After a minute, Emperor Xian lifted a corner of his mouth and smiled. "Alright then, Zhèn will allow General Bai the permission to take one pill of Thousand Years of Lotus Seeds." He wrote something on a piece of paper and sealed it with the emperial seal. "Take this paper and give it to the treasury. They will give General Bai the pill you want."

Straightening his body, Bai Jian Yu couldn't conceal the small upturn of his lips. This cold and stern person could only be this emotional because of his family.

"This official thanks His Majesty for His benevolence." Bai Jian Yu received the paper, cupped his hands and bowed once again.

After dismissing his general, Emperor Xian leaned on his chair. He knew about what happened seven years ago to Bai Jian Yu's Ger son. It was memorable because a few ministers were caught for trying to blackmail the general to rebel against the Emperor by kidnapping his child.

Fortunately, Bai Jian Yu was an intelligent and upright man. Even with his son's life in a threat, he didn't lose his mind. He even managed to save his son and turned the tide by putting all the rebels in jail which they later got executed by the previous emperor.

However, unfortunately, the kidnapping left a dark history to the general's Ger child. He was traumatised and even had temporary memory lost.

Xian Long Wei sighed. Perhaps, he should go and visit General Bai's son? Since the man had been nothing but loyal to their royal family. Moreover, he was once a playmate of the small, cute ger.
