And now Jack's Mom. She's just Mom. I've never had any sort of inclination to give her a name. But that's fairy tales, the character is the Mom, the baker or, in a page or two, the farmer.
When I was quickly designing Jack and his Mom, I modeled Jack's hair on my son's. Jack's Mom was loosely inspired on Jessica Stevenson's character in the British tv series Spaced which was on while I was working. Mostly it was her hair and face shape. Honestly, looking at her now, she looks more like my Mom. Well, when you're doing a character that's an everymom...
