“Sarah,” a distant voice calls.
“Hmm,” Sarah answers absent mindedly.
“Sarah, you zoned out for a bit,” Michael comments while looking at her slightly worried.
“Just remembering my first day here,” She sighs, “How about I meet the others?”
“They are at the fire pit,” He says while motioning for her to follow. They walk over to an old fire pit made of several different sized stones lined and has logs to sit on.
“Hello,” A blonde guy greets.
“Guys, this is Sarah. Sarah meet the other counselors,” Michael introduces while smiling.
“Hi, I’m Lake. I am genderfluid. I use all pronouns,” A person wearing bright clothes introduces.
“Hi ya. I’m Cree. I am Gay,” The blonde introduces with a smile.
“I am Ariel. I use only she/her pronouns,” The girl reading a book introduces in a matter fact tone.
“So, what do you know about the camp,” Sarah asks, looking at all of them as she sits down.
“A tragedy involving a bunch of kids,” Ariel comments looking up from her book.
“Anything other than that,” Sarah asks with a sigh.
“There isn’t anything else,” Cree comments confusedly.
“This place is cursed. I won’t tell you how or by who. You will learn that by yourselves. Just remember to be careful and that nothing is what it seems,” Sarah comments and Michael pulls out a small bag. He opens it and it has 4 costumes in it. The last and only 4 remaining costumes.
“Sarah because I know you can handle him. So, you’ll be the wolf. Lake, you’ll be the bunny. It matches you perfectly. Cree, you’ll be the deer. The deer fits you. Ariel, that leaves the fox to you,” Michael comments while handing out the costumes.
“You think I can’t handle the wolf,” Cree comments, a little offended.
“No, Sarah just knows about this place and knows how to deal with him,” Michael answers with a sigh.
“What do you mean by how she knows about this place,” Ariel asks intrigued.
“I’m one of the so-called survivors,” Sarah answers and their eyes go wide.
“Then tell us what happened,” Ariel coaxes with intrigued.
“Later. The buses are pulling in,” Sarah comments as she stands up. There are 3 buses and a jet black Mica Mazda with jet black tinted windows. They are pulling into the camp. They park near the entrance and wait. All the councilors and Michael walk up and wait for the doors to open. The first 2 buses open and let kids out. Then they leave. The last bus opens but no one gets out. Sarah sighs knowing that this bus has her campers on it. She walks up and gets on the bus.
“Now, get off the bus or I start throwing bags,” Sarah comments with a straight face.
“You can’t do that,” A girl comments and Sarah chuckles.
“Really? Do you want to see if I can,” Sarah asks with a smirk. They all don’t move so she grabs 2 bags and throws them out the door. They all look at her with wide eyes filled with shock.
“All throw all of them if you guys don’t leave this bus,” Sarah comments as she moves to grab more bags. The campers still don’t move. She grabs the rest of the bags and throws them off the bus.
“What the fuck?! Our bags,” A boy yells slightly growling.
“I warned you. Now, off the bus,” Sarah says sternly. The campers all get off the bus. The bus driver hands Sarah the numbers to reach their parole officers. Sarah takes it and walks off the bus. She then walks up to the car. She knocks on the window. The window rolls down and a man looks at Sarah.
“Come on. Time to get out,” She comments and the guy opens the door.
“Sorry the kids just don’t want to go to camp,” He says with a smile.
“Don’t care. Either leave or they get out. That way we can start camp,” She says with a sigh. He gets the teens out. The teens are a boy and a girl. They grab their stuff from the trunk of the car. She then leads with over to the others.
“Welcome to Camp Loch Dobh. Loch Dobh means black lake. It’s called that for 2 reasons. The first is because it has a pitch black lake. The second is because this camp has a secret,” Michael comments, “Now, the rules will be given to you when you get to the cabins.”
“You all are with me,” Sarah tells the campers that are left there. They are the ones she kicked off the bus and the ones from the car.
“Why are we with you,” A girl snickers.
“Shut up,” The man from the car says sternly and they look at the ground, “You will listen to her like you do me. Here is my number.”
“Thanks,” She sighs as she takes the number. He then leaves and Sarah leads them to the Blue cabin. Inside it is painted royal blue. The windows are shaped as different phases of the moon. There are glow in the dark stars stuck to the ceiling. Sarah goes over to a cup and pulls out a bag of blue bandanas.
“Wear these,” Sarah comments while passing them out, “Now, the rules are simple and need to be followed for everyone’s safety, understood? Good. Now the rules are:
Don’t go out after curfew.
Never go into the woods alone.
Never take off your bandana.
Don’t listen to anything you hear outside at night.
This place can make you hear and see things. Just don’t follow them,” She comments as the campers tie the bandanas on to their arms. She ties one on to her arm. She then grabs her bag from her duffle bag. She then opens it.
“Now, put all weapons, lighters, smokes, cellphones, and anything else in the bag,” She instructs and the campers give everything to her while cursing her. She ties it shut and locks it in a chest at the foot of her bed.
“Let’s get to the fire pit,” Sarah comments and the campers frown. They all leave the cabin and head to the fire pit.
“Now, will the counselor join me,” Michael comments and they walk up to him.
“Put on the costumes,” He whispers. Sarah looks and stares at her costume.
