Breakfast was a very quick matter, as weekend activities were common among students at the Academy. Cohen grabbed a bowl from the buffet table and half filled it with peaches, oatmeal, brown sugar, and milk. They then poured a mug of hot water for tea, and considered the tea options. There were quite a few types of tea, but Cohen found three that he really liked; a peach black tea, earl grey tea, and holiday chai. He decided to go with peach because it would go well with the rest of their breakfast. They let the tea bag steep as they stirred in some honey and milk, then went to sit at a table to wait for their friends. About five minutes later, Aster and Nairna rushed down the stairs from the West-wing dormitory and sat down with Cohen at the table. Aster seemed to be a bit stressed and Nairna was just barely made up, and fiddling with a small pill bottle in her purse. Aster simply couldn’t understand why it took so long to get ready in the morning.
“I mean, it’s not like you have to put more than two layers of clothing on! I don’t see how it could be that difficult!” he exclaimed, causing Nairna to start laughing, “Actually, it’s closer to three layers of underclothing if I don’t want to freeze,” she explained, “and then whatever makeup and accessories I choose. Oh, and wrapping my hijab at least two times before getting it right.”
Aster slammed his hands on the table and looked at Cohen and Nairna in shock. Though he could understand having a lot of elements in an outfit, this was too much for them to handle. Cohen started laughing, with Nairna joining in not too much later, and the two had to gently explain to Aster that throwing together an outfit consisting of simply a blouse, waistcoat, blazer, and a pair of trousers was not enough and that even a simple outfit of a top and skirt had to have a slip, corset, corset cover, and multiple petticoats underneath.
