She’ll never taste your famous jalapeno chocolate chip cookies and whine about how they burnt her tongue while you stupidly grin.

You’ll never teach her to read or write or ride a bike or drive or carve or sculpt or……..

She'll never really know you

but,

she will know your photos, and know your smile from the stupid home video we made when we moved in together.

She’ll know the man you became,

the man I loved;

and every night i'll give her two kisses: a kiss from me and a kiss from you

and she’ll know your love
